I was driving my 12-year-old son to basketball practice tonight, and this came on. Midway through the song, he asked me for the name of the song. I put it on repeat on the way home and heard him trying to sing along. That’s the power of good music. It’s timeless. #ProudMama

Good Morning Yu're speaking facts! Cherrelle revealed that she had originally recorded the song solo, and they decided to have Alexander come in to provide additional vocals, but scheduling conflicts prevented them from getting in the studio, and when Jimmy and Terry waned to record Alex's vocals separate both refused. Cherrelle made it clear that she would wait til both had time in their schedules to record the song in the studio together.

Good Morning You're speaking facts. Plus many fans have came up with their ideas of the song. Jimmy revealed that when he and Terry came up with the song they wanted to create a song that has a Bar Lounge vibe and mysterious lyrics that made you wonder what Cherrell's chatacter was doing at the bar and what type of attention she was looking for. Cherrelle spoke about how she was having issues with her late husband and she went out to clear her head and met a guy who became a great listener.

This was and still is my jam! Cherrelle and Alexander O'Neal killed this jam! I loved Cherelle's voice and she and Alexander ruled the 80's. Terry Lewis and Jimmy Jam Harris produced this and slayed this beautiful song. ❤❤
