I was a Chroma expert user and sound designer for Fender in the UK back in the 80s. The Chroma was an exceptional instrument. I'm delighted that Cherry Audio have made a Chroma that everyone can enjoy.

wouldn’t it be wonderful to see you in a video sharing your experience with this instrument?

wonderful idea. we had 2 back then, their stability and issues made it a fixture in our shop. this should be really interesting. now if we could only get a real poly aftertouch keyboard.

@@russ254 thank you, it's a great compliment to be asked, I very sincerely appreciate it. There will be several videos by KZbinrs on the Cherry Chroma, ranging from 'playing the presets with no talk' - style demos to reviews and discussions, many from people to whom the Chroma is new and unfamiliar, sharing their discoveries. They all are helpful and the Chroma is deep enough that there is a LOT to joyfully discover and learn. I'm away from home and my studio for a couple of weeks now , caring for my 90-year-old father for some time and working at different locations across the UK. My laptop isn't up to the task of running instruments, but I'll keep abreast of posts and videos and documentation. On my return, I'll invest time in the Cherry Chroma, and if I feel I can add anything useful to what's being said, I certainly will. This is a fantastically excellent recreation of a wonderful and unique instrument. Each person can discover and shape the Chroma with their own personality. I hope everyone will discover it and make it their own. I'm loving the fact of its existence and it's superlative quality. I'll support anyone's enquiries - please just ask! - - and if I can produce anything that helps people and brings the Chroma forward for you, I gladly will. Enjoy it!

WOW. I just bought Chroma and I'm beyond impressed. No joke, this thing seriously gave me the chills. It's not just "indistinguhable from analog" ... it goves me those honest-to-Yahweh analog chills down my spine. More than my money, my sincere thanks to everyone at Cherry Audio who deliverd this. ...and to the OG's that designed and produced the original. It stands as an amazing achievement and has been vastly underappreciated. No danger of being forgtten now. The Chroma lives forever!

What fantastic news this is! Only Cherry Audio have the skills and vision to be able to make a Chroma that really does justice to the original design team's intentions for it. A wonderful job well done!

I went to a party in 1993 or so outside Boston. I was 13 or something. In the house was one of these things. I asked the kid hosting it if I could play it. The kid's dad said he'd been part of the team who made the thing. It sounded awesome. One odd thing I remember was that if you set the waveform to sine and pushed the cutoff slider up you'd get an almost super saw/ PWM sound out of it. Thanks random acquaintance's dad!

This is very cool. I am an original Chroma owner. I found it very logical to program , and got sounds out of it even the Chroma developers in Woburn Mass didnt think it could do.

Maybe approach Cherry about maybe doing a sound pack? I’m sure users would love what an experienced programmer would be able to get this little marvel to do.

I fell in love with the Chroma when I heard the sounds of it being played live by Gabe Katona when he was touring with Starship in some of the few live concert vids on KZbin.

I have waited years for someone to model this synth, and it had only been available in samplers like UVI. I use to have Rhodes Polaris which was the second version but it died in the late early 2000s at an outdoor show. Ever since it died nothing has recreated my patches but I'm sure this will do the job perfectly!!!

With those colours and designs, if it's NOT a Chroma I'm reporting the entire C.A. marketing department to the trading standards authorities, LOL!!!! Oh, and I've just notice that the Chroma textured panel covering is coming through nicely here! ;)

Wow - another fantastic synth at an incredible price as always! I don't know how Cherry Audio do it (you should rename yourselves "Cheery Audio" 😀). So glad to see Peter-John Vettesse get a special mention as I always remember seeing Jethro Tull at Birmingham NEC in September 1984 and the sounds he got out of his Chroma were so clean and huge. Another instant buy...
