Cherry Bomb by Q review on 5.56 AR-15 and 6.5 Grendel bolt action

By request, this is a follow up to the Trash Panda review and the overview of the Cherry Bomb. In this video, I shoot the Cherry Bomb on an 11.5" AR-15, and also a couple of shots from a Howa Mini-Action in 6.5 Grendel with a 16.5" barrel. Also, I had to film a few rounds being fired with the Trash Panda in place. I made a super dumb mistake and took off my sunglasses for being in front of the camera and forgot to put them back on. The only positive I will say is that the Trash Panda has low back pressure, as I didn't even get gas in the face to remind me that I didn't have eye-pro on. ALWAYS WEAR EYE PROTECTION!

Great video! Been wanting to see one just like this on the recoil reducing ability of the cherry bomb alone. Hoping to pick one up for my .308.

Thanks! I definitely noticed reduced recoil and reduced muzzle flip on the SBR, but it was less beneficial on the bolt gun. Reminded me of the BattleComp.

Thanks for uploading the videos on the Q Trash Panda! Really an exciting new suppressor in a crowded market of 1.5" 30 Cal Cans. I was thinking of going Sig or Wilson Combat 1.75" until I saw these. Now.... the decision is Trash Panda, or Nelson....

Couple questions. How do you like the trash panda compared to other 30 cal cans youve shot? How does it sound compared to the omega on the 11.5 in 556? and have you shot the larger thunder chicken? I am having trouble deciding between the trash panda and the thunder chicken. Don't know if the extra length and weight of the thunder chicken would be worth the extra suppression.

Sorry it took so long to reply- Suppressor choice is so difficult, and it's mission-driven. So when you have conflicting design features needed to accomplish the mission(s), you have to rank importance. I haven't shot the larger Thunder Chicken or Full Nelson. On the SBR 5.56 I still think that the volume (physical) of the can is enough to contain and moderate the gas from a 5.56 round, and that most of the noise is coming from the ejection port for the shooter, so I don't think as the shooter that you'll notice much difference. In other words, the weight and length are probably not worth it, on an SBR that you WANT to be shorter and lighter or you would just shoot a 16" and save the $200.

I see these for sale but they are in either 7.62 bore or 9mm bore. The 762 bore is 1/2-28 thread will it work on 556?

how does the break stack up to other compensators on the market? IE surfire muzzle breaks or other ones

I’d say it’s pretty average, as you’d imagine it’s similar in performance to the BattleComp, since it has a similar design using lots of small holes, and doesn’t need to be timed.

Hows the first round pop on the Trash panda?

When shooting it, I didn't notice any FRP, but when going through my video clips, it seemed like the first round was slightly louder (I also shot some .300blk). The thing is that all of the shots are loud enough to clip the mic on my phone, so it's not very indicative of actual volume.

I didn’t notice it, but that’s not to it’s not present; I was at a public range with lots of nearby gunshots and I was wearing ear pro.
