That was a perfect size cherry log. Not too massive to handle but big enough to get chunky cherry slabs.

My thought too, either black walnut or ash. Yellow birch may be interesting as well. They'd also look very nice in the back of an F150 traveling west... ;) Shhhh, don't tell Shari Beth.

Hang on a minute.. Did that chainsaw really start up on the first pull? Nice slabs though, I hardly sell any cherry but I keep cutting it because I like it.

Ha, no... I started it and realized I had to tighten the chain, so it had a short pre-start. We have obscene amounts of cherry, so much that it leads to Paul using it for utility purposes, thus a pallet build! (*eyeroll) At this point I think we'll have to start selling some of it off, but we'll keep the good ones!

Ok, I can't pass my DOT physical because of hearing loss. Now it seems I can't hear talking on KZbin videos either 🫤 looked like nice dry cherry.....at least it was 😉 any plans for the figured stuff or something to just have on hand? Good video

No plans, just let it dry and think about it. Need to make a new lap board for using the laptop, but not sure what wood I want to use yet, and need to figure out how to make a bean-bag for the bottom of it.
