I've had some wild experiences in much bigger versions of this piece of equipment myself. but man you are obviously going to get hurt doing that. Some of them drive quite fast when the boom is at just the right angle. If you take a turn too hard you can throw yourself out that way too. I have never been thrown out of one but I've definitely had a few sweaty experiences learning to drive one on very uneven Terrain.

I saw a man fly out of a boom lift once. He had gotten the front wheels, (under the platform), onto the concrete slab, and a forklift lifted the rear wheels up sightly above level. When the boom lift went forward it slipped off of the forks and slammed down. The worker flipped through the air like a flapjack and landed flat on the concrete. (No harness) He got back up on his own, but he was no doubt bruised up. Very lucky not to be hurt worse.

@ramblincapuchin9075
@ramblincapuchin9075 2 ай бұрын
It's not that it's an "oh look at the dummy moment" in fact it's not a matter of inexperience either The operator didn't foresee the reality of what he was doing against physics. Your car has suspension, 4x4 have rear suspension, this has no permutations of that arrangement. It is designed to operate on an even plane, a slope at best What surprises me is that the guy filming probably had a decent idea of what was going to happen, but let the man touch fire and risk a near miss anyway We don't know what kind of arrangement brought them here, but he would have had to really blow them off for there to be not even a suggestion of a makeshift ramp or something. As for what quite literally drove him into that situation, there's no telling either
@corythomas4427
@corythomas4427 2 ай бұрын
@ramblincapuchin9075 Except for the 4x4 only having rear suspension part, I agree with most everything else you said and thought a lot of the same things while watching what was going on. That doesn't change the fact that neither the operator, or the guy filming were qualified to be operating that piece of equipment and I'm not surprised about what happened.

I was working indoors on a jobsite and siders were just outside the 2nd floor window on a cherry picker. Dunno how or why, but without warning the entire wheel fell off the machine and it tipped. I could see the bucket with the dude in it as it whipped back and forth getting tossed like a ragdoll. He stayed in the bucket though. But the machine was so tipped it refused to move the bucket so the guy could lower himself down. Had to bring a second cherry picker over to get the guy safely down to the ground. But I saw the wheel after the fact, it came right off, hub and all. Yikes!

😢😮😅 looks like he's coming off a barge from the water. There should be a little ramp there and that wouldn't have happened. That wasn't a good idea to have that come off a thing like that. People got to think of machine safety when they operate a machine. Boy he could have really got hurt if he went up higher and came down hard thank you.

1 Why wasn't the guy wearing a harness? I hope this man is alright. 2 He should have worn a harness and 3 he should have put some ramps under the machine. Definitely not someone I would want on my jobsite. I’m sure there will be plenty of critics on this, but yes. None of these lifts were made to operate like this guy did. However, as someone already wrote, there should have been ramps. Even just a dirt ramp. Option B, if you ABSOLUTELY MUST drive over something like this(not sure how that would ever be the case, but anyway)he should have used the override switch, so that he could have still driven while hanging 90 degrees straight out the side. The action would have been almost none in comparison, when the tires dropped down. And last, worst option, that still would have been better than what he did, would have been to swivel 180 degrees, instead of 90. Then when the tires dropped, as long as he had the boom high enough to not smash into the ground, it would have been the opposite action as the ‘catapult’ effect he experienced. But hey, you can’t fix stupid.
