Arthur has recorded many albums over a 50 year period and is best known for his No 1 Worldwide hit ‘Fire.’ He has been a major influence on many successful artists including Alice Cooper, Kiss, Ozzy Osbourne, Peter Gabriel, Iggy Pop and the New York Dolls.
From an early age he roamed the hills near where he lived singing, talking in rhyme and making up poetry. He signed for Track Records where he was co-produced by Kit Lambert and Pete Townsend. After ‘The Crazy World of Arthur Brown’ (which was generally regarded as the first ever concept album) he released three albums as ‘Kingdom Come’ before joining different spiritual communities. He went on to play The Priest in the film version of ‘Tommy;’ appeared on Alan Parson’s ‘Tales of Mystery Of Imagination’ and then did several albums with ex Tangerine Dream member Klaus Schulze.

As a five year old in 1969 I was terrified by the spectacle of 'Fire' until one day during Top of the Pops my Dad walked into the room and burst out laughing with the immortal words 'look at that idiot with his hat on fire!'. After that, I was cured 🤣

I first saw him on TV,back in `67-8 then saw him with Kingdom Come,then festivals Windsor free festival with Hawkwind, Last time 2000,and had a chat with him after the show,A star.

Kingdom Come's 'Galactic Zoo Dossier' is criminally underrated, it is a masterpiece that should be much more well known than it is (as far as I know).

I discovered Fire at the age of eight in 93' and instantly fell in love as I was a huge fan of The Doors. Looking back I think discovering this song is what made me loathe heavy metal bands of the 2000's.

I remember the Kingdom Come gigs I went to at the Croydon Greyhound in the early seventies. They were amazing and it felt like we'd been taken on a journey. During one song Arthur left the stage and went up to someone near me and told them to scream into the microphone, which they did! I can't find any footage on YT showing some of the props they used, but I recall someone on stage inside a huge syringe and another of a brain that attacked him. Crazy indeed!

We had a really big fire the Laguna Fire in San Diego county in 1970 around that time, and we went up to some people's house who had a telescope and watched the fire, and they played that song 'Fire' the song stuck in my head, and scared me. There was something sexy about it at the same time as being scary.

Heard some unreleased material that Arthur recently recorded as a guest on a band from South America. You can hear King Diamond, Bruce Dickinson, Ian Gillan, Rob Halford, Alice Cooper, Marilyn Manson etc etc etc. So many have been influenced by Arthur. He is in his seventies and his voice sounds like Pavorotti !!! He is singing better than ever. Creative genius.

I’d like to contradict something Arthur says. In the very beginning he spoke about “disappearing“ into the performance moment, or something along those lines. I am a performing/working musician myself, and I’ve known moments of bliss in the live music situation, and in fact, it’s not disappearing or really “losing yourself“… It’s actually a matter of being truly present and alive in the moment. I’m going to guess that Mr. Brown would, agree with me there…

Evidence that supports the fact that if a child is exposed to religious curiosities and learns to mediate, that child will likely benefit. The fruition of an open mind and empty mind sure appear to have provided this man with a fierce availability which has allowed fearlessness, inspiration, bold/brilliant creativity, generosity, INTEGRITY, love, trust, that REAL VOICE and attractive MAJESTY! AND . . . EVERYBODY wants to know and play with him! I was taught the, "Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep" at age 4 or 5, heard "Fire" on the radio at 14, and the whole side A at 16. Spiritually calibrated through the Kingdom Come efforts which fundamentally continues to steer my spirit. AND Of Course throughout my life, I've continued to be awed, by his efforts. WHAT A GAS to finally see him live in 2017(San Francisco including "Rest Cure" and "Sunrise"!!!!). ONLY DIVINE AVAILABILITY can provide us with such a Spirit of Joy. THANK YOU GOD for the blessing of Arthur Brown, may his voice sing on into ETERNITY!

My old man saw Arthur Brown in the 60s. He became a massive Genesis fan and when he saw Peter Gabriel and his costumes he told me he immediately saw Arthur Brown. Wasn’t until I saw that Arthur Brown influenced Peter Gabriel a bit.

Apart from his first (Fire)album ,very much loved what he did with Robert Calvert on "Captain Lockheed & the Starfighters". Spare us organised religion "charismatics" like Graham though.... LSD is a very spiritual experience for many and where people transcend to a higher consciousness. I dont know Arthur but he impresses me as a very enlighened person. If you listen you tell he's skeptical about many aspects of the hippie "philosophy" along also with supporting other hippie ideals.
