I'm talking about how, most of the time and not just in this example, people talk about the singer, the voice and/or the vocal performance but rarely mention the instrumental part of a song. Of course her voice is amazing and she sings very well but the musiciens as well as how the music has been arranged also deserves some credit.

Exactly. Wow, it was like 1993 Billy there for a minute. Non-fans' biggest complaint about SP is Billy's "whiney" (their word) voice. B.S. Billy's voice (and guitar and songwriting) MAKES the music the fantastic thing that it is.

The Mixing is always impressive with BrassAgainst, i thought that about most if not all of their videos. I played brass instruments indoors for years, solo and ensemble, and recroding or mixing them is tough

I have been a fan of Smashing Pumpkins since 1994. I have never heard such a good cover. A wonderful voice, a brilliant rhythm section, a guitar at a great level. Pumpkin style perfectly captured. Gorgeous!

It is not good. The vocals are buried in the mix. I suspect the song was mixed too loud. The guitar tone for the solo doesn't work well either. It's a shame, because it's a great arrangement and performance. That singer really should stand out.

The vocals are buried and I think the flanger or whatever effect takes away from Sophia's performance. I understand what they were trying to do, just didn't work for me. After seeing these in the 90s at their peak and this being one of the anthemic songs of that era i was sceptical brass against could adapt and do this justice (Even after being a huge fan of their Rage covers). How wrong i was!! The arrangement is insane , the drums on point and Sophia, as usual has my undivided attention from the start! Kills it!!! Her vocal range is incredible - todays so called "Big Stars" literally can not hold a light to this woman. Great job guys!
