RIP German manufacturers - at this starting price, its really difficult to justify spending 25% more for an entry level german crossover - and South Africans are really loving Chery and Haval

Nice, honest review mate!!! Stunning cars, but I agree 110%… the front is cramped. Im 2m tall and I don’t fit into any of them. My head hits the roof (because if the sunroof) and getting my legs behind the wheel is a chore because the seat doesnt go down or back far enough… You’re the first person to mention this in your review! Seems like it was made with Eastern people in mind…

I’m getting 9.2 l/100km on my non-turbo, manual 2.0 litre Mazda CX-5 on short urban drives to the mall/gym and back, here in Joburg. But longer highway drives at the speed limit or thereabouts brings my consumption down quite a lot so that I am averaging just under 7.5 l/100km overall. So a similar consumption of 7.5 for the Tiggo 7’s automatic 1.6 turbo engine is quite comparable, contrary to my initial expectations, just based on people saying that Chinese cars are thirsty. As the Yanks say, ‘your mileage may vary’, so yeah, definitely worth a test drive as that fuel consumption isn’t bad at all.

It isn't bad yes. My friends have the Tiggo 8 Pro with the 1.6 turbo. It's a 7 seater and bigger and heavier than the Tiggo 7. We did a trip to Cape Town and we averaged 7.3 litre per 100kms with 4 adult passengers and all our luggage.

Look at how nicely the sides of the boot is covered in carpet. In the SUVs from Toyota, Hyundai, Kia, etc it's all plastic. And when it gets old the sides look all scratched and ugly but the Chery will still look great because it's covered.

I have been avoiding accepting the Chery Tiggo range and today I decided to visit a Chery dealership and the guy who walked me through the car he blew my mind I started messing around with the car and I started realising that this car was an all rounder a must have vehicle and finally I came to tje conclusion I want to get this car

What is the highest engine capacity of a tiggo 7 pro max and what is the estimated price and fuel consumption?
@Paul-hg9zsАй бұрын
They really should put the 8 max engine in these, 2.0L turbo will be amazing
@GregDennisReviewsАй бұрын
I agree... but then that shoots up the price and then the 2 cars are competing with each other which doesn't work.
@bradmallett86986 ай бұрын
All these cars should be Hybrids. It’s what we all need if we wanting 6.5L/100km and less

You don't get leather seats in the R1 million German cars too. The C Class, 3 series, even E class etc is faux leather. No one has real leather unless you add expensive optional extras on the German cars. So that point is irrelevant on it not being leather. Even cars double the price don't use real leather.
@TheRealFlashV2 ай бұрын
I think the point he’s trying to make is that a lot of car reviewers just say leather when it’s not leather.

You are going to work even when you're sick. The Chinese don't play around with their money, if they pay you for a 'review', you will deliver that review.

I just checked the BAIC X55 and the GAC Emkoo. Really good value for money also. Best so far in terms of value for money here in Mauritius: 1. Chery Tiggo 7 Pro Max (10 years or 1M Kms engine and trans warranty, 10 years or 300K Kms bumper to bumper warranty) 2. GAC Emkoo (5 years or 150K Kms bumper to bumper warranty, engine and trans included). 3. BAIC X55 II (5 years or 100K Kms warranty bumper to bumper, engine and trans included). 4. Proton X70 (I think it's 5 years or 150Kms warranty...but forgot if it's bumper to bumper). Though Haval has provided excellent warranty too, I feel that they need to work a bit more on their offerings.
