Chesapeake Bay HOTSPOTS For Summer Striped Bass | INCREDIBLE Striper Bite!

The summer striped bass season is open now in Maryland after a long spring of a no targeting closure. On this trip, I head out with some of the crew from FishTalk Magazine to hit the shallows in search of stripers on the Eastern Shore. We fished from James Island up to the mouth of the Choptank River and found fish just about everywhere in between. We caught multiple year classes of fish including some very nice over slot fish close to 30 inches. Any tips for rockfish like main bay like bay bridge love point eastern bay mid bay anything like that would be great

If your on a boat then the KI area requires mainly trolling to be successful in the channels. With lures fish the pylons by the bridge.

I fished the bay for many yrs. I understand that currently the numbers are down. Rockfish die after a fight in hot water. They get acidosis and die upon release

The Little Choptank and Slaughter Creek are some of my favorite places to fish in spring. They are absolute fire until the water gets hot in July. After that, it's mainly rays hitting the line until fall. You guys fished those spots on an outgoing tide, which is usually best for those locations.
