In fairness, as someone obsessed with not getting a black, shiny steering wheel on a used car, the standard Black Nappa leather LCI2 MINI one from 2021-on is just about the only car I've seen that so far never seem to go shiny although time is obviously on its side presently. Take a look at a 2020 MX-5 and it typically looks like one from a Nissan Primera minicab from the 90s. I think they upgraded the leather on those at the time they did away the burgundy leather as a UK option on GT Sport Techs as all with Light Stone upholstery seem to have lasted much better. One they go shiny, you're not getting them back. Those LCI2 MINI ones are so delightfully matte, I have resorted to driving gloves for the first time in 30 years of driving as I feel I'm making it dirty!
