Thank you so much. I looked at this and found no figure for any way to disconnect this. You saved my day. Thanks

Worked on one today with the same problem. Gave it a little bit of oil of the same oil as used to the bearing. Pressed the leaver with the finger down when lowered the tonearm a couple of time and now it working as a charm. 🙂

Canadian Rega RP1 owner and new subscriber here! I see that you mentioned the slight difference between this deck and the RP1 at approx. the 3:00 minute mark. I bought my deck used in 2013 and judging by the knowledge you shared (in another video) about reading the month/year of the motor, mine is from 3810 (38th month of the 10th year); therefore about 11 years old. Though I've replaced my Ortofon 2M Red a couple times (just last month was the last time), I've come to realize that I'm running a bit slow and need to replace the standard belt. Moreover though, I've been waiting for someone to post a video like this for about 3 years, as my tone arm lever no longer works optimally. I've read on some forums about replacing the grease...with mixed results. You've convinced me that for the minimal cost, replacing the Lift Lower / Cueing device mechanism is the way to go, and it seems within my abilities. Thank you so much for posting such a well filmed and informative video!

I need to change the cueing device on my Planar 2 but how to put back the tonearm in the right way? The video does not show that. How to align the tonearm correctly when tightening the bold at the bottom of the turntable? Any video - suggestions? thank you for your great inspiring videos!

@jeffhunter4395 I have same question because cartridge could be off and need setting up again and I recently bought a new cartridge (VM95ML) and they professionally set it up for me and dont want to disturb it....?

Hi, I have a Thorens TD165 (with an SME 3009 II arm) and an Acoustic Research EB101, both of which have this problem. I did actually call your shop to enquire if you do repairs. Left a message, but I'm guessing you're really busy. I'll be interested to see if that "pushing down and releasing the cueing arm" thing helps. Please could you let me know if you carry out repairs, mate?

My rega p3-24 lift lower seems to drop on its own. Is this likely to be a replacement job or is there any way to fix? Cheers for the very helpful guides on the planar decks 👍🏻
