Cheers Dave B glad you enjoyed video......the new multipliers have combined braking systems so when you learn you can brake the reels hard and its virtually impossible to birds nest them...then you can slowly ease off the brakes as you get better so your distance improves. neither Chris or i are good casters we just load the rod a bit and give it a thump but probably get about 100 yards in favourable conditions which is enough. Not all fish are 100 yards out though........Multipliers just feel better than fixed spools to me and you have better control. Plus you can put the ratchet on too which can be useful. Good luck Ian

Hi Andrew sorry about late reply hope you had good trip in august. In summer we hedge our bets for anything that swims. Generally use small but strong hooks pennel rigged from size one down to size 4. Use pulley rig and mix of lug rag and a bit of squid on the end. I'm not a long caster so distance not usually important but generally stay overnight to take advantage of dusk and dawn and all states of the tide. Cheers ian
