Cheslin and I went to the same High School (Brackenfell High School) on a scolarship where Mr. Stofberg (a teacher and rugby coach) told him to give up on sprinting and play rugby instead. Cheslins cousin is Wade Van Niekerk, Olympic 400m runner and World Record holder), and they used to race each other as kids until Cheslin realised he couldn't make a living from sprinting and turned to rugby. Our town sends players to Paarl Boys, Paarl Gym and Paul Roos so the level of rugby at a school level is very high. Cheslin is an inspiration. He's super humble and such a fantastic role model. Rugby is for all shapes and sizes and it's a way of life for South Africans. Thanks for the content.

We don't think he gets the recognition he deserves. Many have said over the years that he's not good enough, not big enough. I'd say it's only after the 2019 world cup that people started giving him the respect he deserves. We don't mean to upset anyone, only to give these players tribute.
