You've got to be a little cheesed off when you score a hat-trick, but still end up on the losing side. Not only did that fate befall Dwight Yorke in this game, but he also hit the post and had another wrongly disallowed for offside. Yup, in fact Shearer was actually an even better finisher, in fact the best pure striker in terms of his ability to score from any situation, if he had joined Man Utd, he would have bag quite a lot more goals and silverware.

the prem was so open back then, a good few teams could ov easily won it, money has changed the game so much, the prem is still the best to watch but its not as open as it was

Headers were so vital and precise back then. Because the ball was harder and when stuck, the header can arrow into a corner with speed and accuracy.

Yorke's 3rd goal should have been called offside. The "4th" was wrongly disallowed, so in a way the two cancel each other out. NIce football by both sides though.
