Blade and Imperial Shot Put are super fun mechanics. Imperial Shot Put only shows up if you take King’s Shoulders though so it may be a while before we see it again

What does blade do?

2:56 Blade is basically, if an enemy piece adjacent to you (e.g. in a tile where you could otherwise move to with your basic moveset) has equal health to or less health than your Blade value, you can execute them on your turn to not use up any ammo. In other words, if I hit an enemy 5-health Queen for 3 damage and she gets all up in my face and moves right next to me but I have 2 Blade, I can execute her right then and there. This also works on the enemy King if his health is low enough. You cannot, however, attack an enemy with Blade if it will not kill them. Blade can result in some interesting builds with the cards that're centered around it, for example there's a card that allows you to, once per turn, execute a piece without ending your turn. I find them the most fun to play and it's so satisfying to sweep through enemy Pawns that end up next to you. So yea, that's what Blade is. Fun fact, you can also finish off the Final Boss with Blade if their health is low enough and your Blade is high enough. Highly recommend experimenting with it. Hell, if you enjoy it, try doing a run where you raise it as much as possible. If you successfully raise it high enough, regardless of if you win or lose, you'll unlock a shotgun that has less starting Firepower but starts with 2 Blade.

A lot of games have gotten updates, and quite good ones at that. Always a pleasure to see. Luck be a Landlord, Shotgun Chess, Peglin recently dropped an update. Expanding a bit more on that last one, I've been keeping an eye on Peglin since basically the beginning and honestly, quite appreciative of the devs, who actually appear to listen to feedback instead of following some kind of preset plan. Their updates have been ~90% stuff that I think greatly improves the game, which is pretty damn good. Shotgun Chess definitely looks a lot more fun now. More variety is almost always good in this genre, and some of the new additions just seem fun in a silly, gratifying way. It makes no sense to be able to just pick up a tower and yeet it at the opposing monarch, but it makes you smile to do so, and too few games put stuff in just to make you grin for a bit.

Blade allows you to execute pieces next to you instead of shooting or moving, with one card the first blade use of every turn is free action. If a piece is next to you and it hp equalt to or less than your blade value you a blade appears on them when you hover your mouse over them, clicking them kills said piece guaranteed without using up your ammo.

They did try to cut down on ways you can be unfairly killed, grenades bounce less when thrown near you, castling now stuns the rook and king so they can't kill you the turn they swap, rats (you haven't seen them yet) can't get you killed

So when you're in check it doesn't allow you to do things as a way to say "you're in check." If you just do it a bunch (3 times I think) you can proceed with the move.
