I gave away a tournament blitz game against a kid last week because I tought his mum was a hottie and I was already planning on starting a chat with her. After the game I jokingly held my head in shame when I passed her and she thanked me, so I started a conversation about how well he played. I know, kind of cheezy but I tought it was funny. And for the record, I was playing crap anyways so I tought losing one more or less at this point wont bother me.

Even average IQ kids can play very good after learning how to play chess, they are kids, they don't have another problems in life, no responsibility, brain is not loaded with different kind of info so that they can think faster, it is like a new bought computer, laptop which can work faster, as you age it is not likely to play chess better. Playing chess requires to take fast action, with a good accuracy. Playing good chess is not for adults if they did not start at very young age. Also even if you are a GM, kids sometimes can beat you. It is very normal.

games like these where both players are playing the moves in rapid fashion because "the study theory" is exactly what Fischer was talking about when he criticized the game as devolving into a matter of who is better at memorization. I've love to see competitive chess split into two groups. Anyone with a FIDE of 2200 and above can only compete in Chess960 and those below 2200 can compete in both Chess960 and traditional chess.

shes a master, it is a title by the international chess federation. Its quite difficult to obtain.
@Ahmed_Kj386 ай бұрын
@@demervalaugustodacunha1954 Ok. interesting. I don‘t know. My rating is about 2400 I do not consider myself a master. I think a master starts from 2500. . I think a rating of 1900 or 2000, which she has is far away from any master. Otherwise In any chessclub you would have like 100 chess masters. It is a chess club player level. That is ok. I think she is more like a social media master. Many followers and likes. But from the chess rating and chess strength I do not understand how one can be a chessmaster with this rating, but ok. The social media generation :) There are people on KZbin who call themselves Dr. / Phd after finishing school.

I didn't understand who was supposed to be the master here. The child, I think, since the lady is a WFM, NOT a FM. And there are a good 200 ELO points less between the two titles....
@spyfire24228 күн бұрын
Its an official chess title which includes the word "master." Its accurate whether you respect it or not.
@jstb610227 күн бұрын
@@spyfire242 No, you can't take a single word from a title and use it instead, especially when it results in a misleading statement, as in this case. I respect titles, it is cheating that I do not.
@spyfire24227 күн бұрын
@jstb6102 it's not misleading, national masters, international masters fide masters, grand masters, wfm etc are all "chess masters" despite having a wide range of ELO. Stop trying to downplay and rob someone of their title that they earned fair and square.
@spyfire24227 күн бұрын
@@jstb6102 As far as I am concerned if you hold a title such as FIDE master, WFM, national, international or grand master etc all are considered a "chess master." Yes there is a range of ELO denoting a hierarchy of skill however they all earned the right to call themselves chess masters through hard work and dedication to the game, its not misleading nor cheating.
@jstb610227 күн бұрын
@@spyfire242 We still have different opinions, but I appreciate that your last statement at least rules out the possibility that a WCM (which can be achieved with a performance of 2nd category) can claim to be a chess master, as was the case with your previous statement. Let me conclude by reminding you that even the strongest female chess player of all time (GM Polgar Judit) has stated that there should be no separate women's titles. And I would add that the fact that they can have both only adds to the confusion. If 'W' titles must exist, then women should have access to them only, not the "open" ones as well. That is my opinion and it is also the way it works in all other sports.
