Really enjoyed this stream! Maybe I listened lazily but the material count above/below the clocks also display kings to indicate the numbers of checks you/your opponent have given. Tip for the next time :-) Edit: I see at 28:43 you found them, my bad!

Maybe I'm an idiot but it seems to me if you can exchange equal material with a check or a forced check after the exchange that is a no-brainer, (barring a forced win by the opponent after that).

At 16:00 you don’t lose a tempo by checking because he has to move his king. By blocking he gets checked again
