Thank you so much for making a video on this!!! :D I wonder who will be the first person to get a game with this... :D Wow! That is a really improved move order! (For the record for people who don't know, the people in the Lit Defense Team that came up with and experimented with this g5 idea were Arcannee and SirDillyMoves on lichess, but GJchess seems to have made the move order much better! :D )

As a victim of this line, I can say it fooled me. But, as George W. Bush said, "Fool me once, shame on you, fool me, you can't get fooled again."

Also you can play 1...c6 in case white plays e4 you have the extra option of playing 2...d5 transposing to the Caro Kann if you want, or you could play GJ's c6+d6 opening :)

Can you please do another video expanding on your video that shows the universal opening against d4? I love your videos and love that opening but I would love a video that details the overall game long strategy. It sounds like I'm asking for a lot of detail but that's not what I'm asking. Just like basic overall strategy against different openings, such as how you are.planning to set up an attack. Where you want to try to push your pieces after the opening and where do you typically want to attack. Once again love your content man and thanks!

@GJ_Chess First of all, thank you for great videos! I've been following your page and adopting quite a few of your creative lines for a long time now. However, I have a question regarding the position at 8:22 (I haven't checked with computer, so I might be missing something.) Doesn't the bishop at g4 risk being trapped? Or in other words: With white making the move Ne5, how do you save the bishop? As far as I can see, whatever move white makes, the trapping pawn-move f3 seems to be an issue!? Thanks for your feedback GJ_Chess!

This hanging bishop idea is similar to some lines in Frank Marshall's Cambrdige Springs Defense against the Queen';s Gambit declined.

Actually i used this trick before you showed me because i've lost a match this way playing a strong player in my chess club, so i don't think you invented it. But i appreciated very much how to continue the attack if white doesn't fall for the trap!

Nowadays, traditional London System set-up starting with Nf3 is awkward. The Accelerated London System is still a better position. Even with that of g5 followed by Qb6 trap. This type of trap only occurs after e3 moves from a white perspective. After the c6 move from the black camp, the best reply could be c3 and not e3. This is to avoid the g5 moves and Qa5 check or Qb6 idea setup from black. The clue word is Move Order.

hi this video is a bit old but i have a genuine question and i have been trying to analyse it also, but say on the 4th move, they move h3 instead of e3 ? we take the horse but the g5 plan is no longer valid as if they the g5 pawn with bishope and you check with the queen the queen can defend both bishop and kind.. PLEASE any thoughts? thank you

Clever player will go e4 right after this slow d6, switching priority to occupying the center, and the engine shows white is almost a pawn up right after 2nd move, so this is why this trap never played, no time to realize it.
@RickCarter1776

The trap is really something played into by lower rated players and sleepy titled players who are not watching the game. The standard I teach london players is always pull the black bishop back to be and be willing to exchange the bishop for the open h file for their rook, also London system players who are familiar with the attacking lines which naturally come out of the opening system with diagonal play with the bishops or opening the center with the pawn push at c4 find excellent attacks even during development. Don't really know who your playing but playing toward expecting your opponent to fall for traps (i.e. blunders) isn't really a good practice in the long run. But, all in all, a very nice video!😀😀

Go daddy. If you created the website with the website files ready to upload, move to 000webhost. At least it's SSL secured. Downside is, your domain runs like this gjchess.000webhost.com This is not a paid promotion, just sharing my thoughts. I'll send you my url once it's up and ready.

BTW, london system as white seems to be my repretoire for a while now, this upcoming October, this is a tournament I want to join. And I need a solid, reliable opening. Im looking forward for a video with dutch defense against d4. And a universal opening against e4 apart from Nf6 lines.

Try d4 d6 Bf4 c6 c3, it blocks the e1-a5 diagonal and you don't have to worry about g5...for now ;)

The most logical move is to play 2. e4. There are many good white options for White against Pirc/ Modern and you can choos the one you like most. Or you play first 2.nc3 and try to get into the Jobava London. Look at gingergm channel. I think the pure London is simply not the best choice against systems with an early d6.

@@ElKogito Hey Londom System is not a stupid opening. In fact you are stupid. London System has more theories behind it that is why many chess players prefer this 2016-2018 but after the unraveling move of Carlsen.. it shock the community and trying to patch up the London System in its original hot spot. Stupid comment

Grubs like trap does not nessesary work and your coordination and development is bad in my oppinion, but it is about what type of position you are comfortable playing, Grubs like setup does not do well for me. I believe in trying to transpose into the Blumenfeld gambit instead whith d5, Nf6, Nf3 and now c5.

I ve played this on lichess many times i can prove it to you if i search my games but with not the same move order and much earlier. D4 -NF6,BF4-C6,E3-G5! I ma not trying to be a smartass i have actually teached this trap in Australia when i was living in the past to a little asian kid when i was helping him with the london system! Man there is no way you invented this trap sorry!
