At first, I get crushed too but it's because at my level my opponents don't play the best moves and I see some crazy shit ... until I get a few games in and learn to see the whole board and understand the basic IDEAS of the positions and not just the memorized positions. With the London it's more about SOLID chess and the traps almost (almost) set themselves.

I play King's Indian blitz and when people try the London against me I found they set themselves up for a trap often. I just castle, move my rook to f8, then push my pawn f5. They have to move their dark bishop, which allows me to set up a fork on the bishop and the knight. Because of the forging move against the dark bishop, they often don't see the fork coming. I won so many games this way. Many people don't play both c3 and Qc2. Instead, they castle and they lose a piece for a pawn.

7:20 If you let the knight take the bishop next to the rook, you have an open rook file. You can then gain a pawn and then potentially gain a rook if they take your knight with the pawn protecting their rook. Does that make sense?

I took with the rook and he attacked with the other bishop on b4 with check forcing my knight to block/ me to move my king. I looked at some lines after and they all seem to end with me having a bishop and a rook against two rooks in the endgame. How would you react to this?

OK sorry working it through if they take H4 you can simply continue with b*h2, k*h2, qh5+ as then you pick up the bishop
@AlexBanzea3 жыл бұрын

What is the purpose of Bf4?
@AlexBanzea2 жыл бұрын
You develop the bishop on the active square and then you can play e3 making the d4 pawn quite solid. Often times the bishop on f4 is amazing controlling the e5-square and one of the most effective plans is to play Nf3-Ne5 and it becomes very tricky for your opponent to deal with it.
