i am sure even Magnus struggles with stuff like that...a game of chess does not actual have a physical existence... the board and the pieces are only there to give a visual and a physical representation of the actual game or the position...that is why this is possible...because the mind is so powerful that through practice we can create a virtual representation of the same

There's a video on youtube where Wesley So is given three chess puzzles and he solves them all successfully without a chessboard. The only information he gets is the position of the pieces told to him verbally. This tells me that he can mentally build a picture of a chessboard in his brain and go from that. Also, there are people who can calculate complex math formulas using an abacus that they visualize in their head. There are videos of that as well on youtube. Quite impressive!

Nice how magnus change the game to the queen side. As a patzer I'd probably keep trying to attack along the h file.

A lesson to everyone , things/moves you miss on chess board with your eyes open , well , try playing each move in your mind and you won't miss moves again

@vaibhav vinayaka I can do that! Just set it up! I'll lose them all ofc. There are also systems you can use that I call cheating. I'm not sure who you are talking about, but I'm pretty sure he just played a system to actually make the players play against eachother. Unless all opponents play the same color / there are opening rules ofc.

Reti said, he will better see situations the more games he plays. so he had hard time to play blindfold with feww people, but good time playing 30+ pople. but in those time were chess poorly paid.

@Koushik Mandal Many GM's have done more than 10. Alekhine for example but that does not prove one GM is better than another.

Rumor has it that the guy who lost used to mock his classmates as a child with the phrase, "Ha ha, you can't even beat a blind person in chess." Ironic how things play out in life.
