It’s armegeton. Ding has white and three extra minutes and in exchange a draw is a win for black. Therefore magnus only has to play for a draw, because a win is no different. Ding lost in this format. You are watching the wrong format if you wanted to see a decisive game. Your comment is more appropriate for the classical game played before where they drew. But even still magnus doesn’t mind a draw there because he’s favored in short time controls in the follow up tiebreaker. I also prefer decisive games, but when the format is such that a draw is equal to a win, it would be silly to risk the game to try to win simply for ego or whatever the point would be.
