This is the kind of game where I could look at all the possible variations and computer evaluations and wouldnt get any closer to understanding ANYTHING. You seriously need a human like Peter who is strong enough himself to have some sense of whats going on plus whos able to explain it and put the ideas into words. Thank you for putting this out there.

Absolutely Magnificent Analysis!!! Have been trying to understand looking at the engine but just couldn't...this covered everything!! Just one small correction from the engine - after Vishy's Qd4, if Magnus goes c1=Q then Qe3+ from Vishy does still work, as Kc2 from Magnus will lead to bishop capture Qxd3 from Vishy. As he himself said, Peter just really loved the aesthetics of stalemate while keeping the bishop on the board!!

Yes I was wondering the same during the video but peter obviously had very little time to study the endgame and prepare for this video and he really wanted to show the aesthetic side of this study like endgame

If after Vishy queened his second pawn, Magnus had pushed his black pawn to c3 to avoid stalemate - as Peter suggests he should have - it would have opened Vishy up to a series of dangerous checks, eventually leading to the loss of both black pawns without queening either of them effectively.
