Yet another informative and enjoyable lesson! Also as someone from Amsterdam, I'm happy to learn that there's a museum hidden behind the Max Euwe square's life-sized chess board. Thank you!

i would love the yasser annotations, but funnily enough, it is kind of perfect to have aman keep the chat up to speed with those annotations, is like pretty awesome. i've watched a lot of chess commentary and this is pure gold. thx so much yaz and chessbrahs!

Yasser is the absolute best chess lecturer that I have ever seen. I play at the 2000 level but feel like a complete novice learning chess for the first time when I listen to Yasser's lectures. Thank you for posting this lecture!

What is the best way to study chess theory if you don't have a personal Yasser on hand? Do I have to buy books? If so which ones are the best?
@carsenarsen86344 жыл бұрын
ASomewhatLongAndMeaninglessUserame Yasser has published chess theory books. They’re very good...

Yes. Buy books depending on your level of skill. As a beginner to intermediate I recommend Silman's books on endgame play and strategy. Any game that covers Capablanca's end games is also phenomenal. On pawn structure (maybe start here) check out the Marovic books. Its a slow process but completely worth it. Use a real board while you go through the book. I went from about 1200 to 1800 USCF within 6 months of doing this. I haven't improved much since I stopped reading chess books. The lectures from St.Louis chess club are also great. Lastly, don't forget to do puzzles once or twice a week. Don't waste too much time doing puzzles unless you're particularly weak at calculating moves. Good luck!

On liches.org you can share your annotated games. I find it very useful.

Did anyone tell Yasser that he can make publicly visible studies on lichess?
@kochevar994 жыл бұрын
Yasser might be an old school dude. However even if he did know, the Chessbrahs are partners with chess.com. Don’t know if it would be feasible to be shouting out their competitor. I don’t agree with that per se, but it is what it is. I wish chess.com had the studies feature for premium members. Lichess studies are so good for studying.

Yo, I'm just wondering how you got the KZbin crew to come and film you?! I've been trying to get them to film me for a while now, but so far, no progress has been made. I have sent around 100 emails to the KZbin support service, but nothing has happened so far, I always see prominent KZbinrs like Pewdiepie uploading videos weekly. How? I'm trying to start making videos, and I've been ready to for a while now, so if you could help me with this, that would be excellent. Thanks.

Let's say you are serious: KZbin won't come to you and film you with their cameras. You are filming and making the videos yourself and then upload them to KZbin. Hope I could help you :)

One minor complaint about the master class, Yasser needs to speed up the stories. I literately fell asleep.

Sounds like a personal problem. Get a coffee or some sugar in you so you can keep up. A free lecture of this quality doesn't come around often.
