I won like this in a rapid game. I didn't remember the whole sequence, but I freestyled in the end and found a way in less moves. The key to remember is just to get the queen to d6 at the right moment, which forces the king to b3 and then c2. Getting the king to this side of the board is easy, so you don't need help there. I had Black, which means that I had to do everything mirrored left-right.

At 15:36, didn't Qe6 win a piece by forking the knight and rook? It just seemed better than Qxb7.

Yo actually SNHU is a dogshit online campus scam. I went there after high school, there’s 2 or 3 forced 6 week classes that you have to take (intro to online colleges, intro to SNHU, etc) concurrently, basically forcing you to postpone your education for 4 months or drop out halfway through and they’ve gotten your tuition for practically nothing on their part.

It's interesting. At 11:22, long castling is legal because the king doesn't pass through check. But the rook does. That sounds like en passant to me. It feels like there should be an equivalent rule. After long castling, white should be able to play Bxb8 taking the rook on d8 because the rook had to pass through b8 to get to d8 in one turn. So even though it's legal to castle, the fact that the bishop is there would dissuade black from castling that way because he'd lose the rook. I suppose a counter-argument is that a rook is faster than a pawn and can jump in one go whereas the pawn and king have to go one square at a time.

Idk if you play like this at 400, you'll get destroyed down to 100-200s, I'm abt 450 started playing a month back, and this looks terrible, maybe 400s used to be weaker 3 years back, and although you said no tactics the discovered check at 7:55 is definitely one, taking with queen would have been much weaker, I was just playing someone who literally saw through all my discovered checks, pins getting unpinned properly, it's hard, but I heard a lot of recos for this series, I'll watch all the videos, thanks for making this.

Just checkmate him if you can. Nobody can be expected to resign just because you would like it, it could still end in a draw.

58:24 It's not just defend pawn. It's knight position also. That knight needs to not be such a problem piece.

Without the speech at the front I personally found this to be a pretty funny game and enjoy when these types of scenarios pop up, bit of a contest to see who is more stubborn or even to get some very visually pleasing checkmates, in any other context I'm all for it.

Im not particularly a fan of Hikaru personality, I just like the way he plays chess. But at this point the chessbrah guys are on a "bully party" in a "professional tone" which dont make it looks like a bully. For the views? For the past hatred with him? For his success (even with his prrsonality)? I dont get it , but for me it feels like a big bully party, and my mind naturally want to stand in the victime side.
