I love the old Chessie logo. In the 70s my grandmother lived one house away from 4 lanes of track that went behind a Chrysler plant. Chessie and Conrail were common sights and Chessie was my favorite. I played on those tracks and waved at the engines as they rolled by. Those are good memories.

Interesting. There seems to be a lot of footage on 614’s safety trains but none when it did the coal trains

There's plenty of footage for 614's passenger career to go around, but not as much as when she tested for the ACE 3000 project. Shame really cause she did a great job at it. Although I believe 2101 probably should've been painted in B&O colors instead, she still put on quite the show!

The 2101 is at the B&O museum in its American Freedom Train paint scheme, and the 614 is at the C&O Heritage Museum in Clifton Forge, VA.

@@mr9mm436”Chessie” didn’t have anything, Both engines are/were owned by Ross Rowland, Chessie simply allowed him use of their rails.

Reading 2101 was badly damaged in a roundhouse fire in Kentucky in 1979. The cause of the fire is unclear. The Reading 2101 is back in it's AFT paint job and on static display at B&ORM after the Kentucky Roundhouse Fire Incident.

Technically, 614's trains were after Cheesie became CSX, but the railroad wasn't officially merged out of existence until 1987 (the B&O's 160th anniversary).
