absoutley gutted to see wild asia & scorpion heading out the park especially as scorpion is so iconic from 1987 but fingers crossed the new wild asia area will be good

I personally think Wild Asia was long overdue a revamp. Bland area really apart from Kobra but even that ride looks dull.

⁠@@UKThemeParksMy Parents,Younger Sister and I all rode Zufari in its first year of operation. All the scenery wasn’t as extensive as it is now we were impressed with the experience. My Parents and I rode Zufari again in the July just gone. We were all disappointed by the aviation deterioration of Zufari most notably the Cave. The Cave was definitely the best part of Zufari in its early years. Furthermore we were shocked by how quiet Zufari was. We all reflected on how we were previously held in the pre show with the Lemur. I hope Zufari gets the TLC it requires although I wouldn’t be shocked if Zufari is removed over the coming Closed Season.

My guess for Monkey Swinger is if Chessington can't relocate and it's doable for a refurbishment, I think it could relocate to Thorpe Park or even Alton Towers. Rattlesnake is safe for now. I wonder if Kobra will stay open during the construction period which could be doable. I'd have thought Land of the Dragons, Tiny Truckers and Flying Jumbos would be higher priorities for redevelopment or replacement. It could happen alongside Project Play. Exciting times 😁

I agree that wild Asia isn’t the first area that springs to mind in terms of needing work but I imagine it’s more to do with how much space it takes up rather than the state it was in

Adam I have a thought. In 2020 The Flying Jumbo’s entered The Elmer Sponsorship. This was a 4 year contract and expected to expire this year. Taking this into account could The Flying Jumbo’s be removed from Chessington due to their age. If this Ride was removed could Monkey Swinger potentially be relocated to the location over the closed season. Should Temple Of Mayhem be demolished and the Glamping Field redeveloped this could be walled off for next season. This would allow this corner of Wild Asia to be prepared for the overall renovation in 2026. I agree I think Tuck Tuck Turmoil is a goner. Monkey Swinger had a massive upgrade at the start of the year so I doubt it’ll be going. I wouldn’t be surprised if Wild Asia becomes an expansion for Land Of The Tiger. The fact Tiger Rock is included in the plans tells me it’ll be part of the area.

2027 was what I was told if all goes to plan for wild Asia today. I think they want project play to be open in 12 months so possibly in 2025. All going to plan according to what I was told at consultation
