The Fantasy variation is the trickiest among the Caro-Kann sidelines. But as long as you prep against it, you will end up playing just fine.
@FenShen-us9tv Жыл бұрын
This is also good to show what tactics you can use if you play the Fantasy, most lower elo players will fall for a lot of these traps.

Y'know there is a seven move checkmate trap in the Caro Kann fantasy variation. When white moves to f3, you immediately challenge the center with pawn to e5. Then white takes that pawn with exd5. That is the trap. As black you have a choice to either move queen to b6 or bishop to c5. Which ever you pick first, make sure you do the other one too. White will likely make a developing move, knight to c3 and then once you have your queen and bishop in the squares I mentioned, white realizes his knight on g1 is in danger. It turns out white blunders allot here, and moves the knight from g1 to e2. Now it is just mate in two.

16:44, "no real compensation for white for the pawn that they gave you." I'm wondering though why the white queen doesn't grab the pawn on d4 after the bishop trade instead of developing their knight on d7? Is it a bad move for white?

4:27 Bro with all due respect Bg4 is the best move and you can easily counter white's plans after Bc4 Nd7 c3 Bd6 0-0 Nf6. This position is now arguably favorable for Black as if White ever tries Qb3 there is more than enough compensation.

Practice your endgames specifically. My blitz bounces between 1350 and 1450, so it's nothing to write home about, but my tactics aren't too much higher than yours so if I had to guess, it's endgame theory you're needing. Most players neglect it.

Hey, So, I tried playing the kings Indian defense and have found it not helpful. When I played it, I did the order you suggested and got crushed hard with queen and took battery along the H file with the help of their L sq bishop. If ya want I can even send you the game, but for all other odds I’m out, sorry. I’ve lost so many games now that I’m way below my rating of 1030. Maybe you can show a video of you playing someone using the London while using the kings Indian defense.
