I have a really hard time switching and shifting between my head and chest voice. Two very different sensations for me. But I've been working on improving and strengthening my head voice lately and noticed that it's also strengthened my chest voice as well! And it's even helped me feel the connection between the two more. I'm definitely subscribing. Loved your personality.

what does any of that mean? when I try to sing (i sound horrible) I notice i can either sing very high and hit some notes OR very low and hit some notes. But as soon as i have to sing somewhat in the middle or have to change from high to low I sound like someone is trying to kill me while singing

There is a thread between your chest amd head voice that will make you transfer your head voice to a chest voice.

My son did a degree in Music Production at the Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford, England. He was always referring to head voice and chest voice when he was recording vocalists. That's what brought me to this video. I had never heard the terms before.

Wait... so we are suppose to use head voice to sing or chest voice? I’m really confused 😥
@rahnbruce83654 жыл бұрын
Ongsing7 playz Geez. I’ve learned so much since this comment. *Chest voice* is basically your speaking voice. The strongest, most comfortable part of your voice. *Head voice* is that higher-pitched soft voice way above *chest voice.* And the final one is *mix voice.* It’s where your body mixes both *chest* and *head voices* so that you can belt higher notes with much less strain (it usually ends up sounding like chest voice). It takes time to learn each part of your voice and how it works, but this is some of what I know so far.

Using head voice to sing is better or chest voice?
@mochacapi20764 жыл бұрын
Ongsing7 playz it’s not really about which is better. Good singers use both. Chest voice is where you are most comfortable because everyone talks normally in their chest voice. Head voice is simply a different vocal resonance. The higher you go, the more likely you are to activate your head voice. Does that make any sense???

Thank you for this video. it is clear and informative . I direct a chamber choir that does a lot of straight 4-part a cappella music. One of my altos says she strains above the F above middle C and has particular trouble with one piece where there are a lot of sustained A flats. I thought it was a case of breath support at first, but now I suspect she is using chest voice without ever transitioning to head voice. Do you have any suggestions. Thank you very much for your time and help.

Hi! Great lesson. Have you ever heard of CVT - Complete Vocal Technique? It's an European concept and they are teaching it in my campus right now (I'm a music student). Could you check it out and tell me what you think of it?Many people are opposed to it, and some say t makes everyone sound the same. Meanwhile, it really helps a lot of people reach their goals. It's new so, naturally, it's gained a lot of restraint from the music world. What are your thoughts on it?
