If you grew up on film you learn quick to capture it all in your camera, the discipline of not being able to see the image makes you pay attention to detail. Awesome captures and a great location. Thank you for sharing.

Best series you've done! Best advice for anyone at 12:30 "use good technique, good light, composition" . I know you've suggested jpgs for beginners or for people who shoot only for social media in the past. "

Wow, that first image is just sublime. That can't not end up on your wall (and many others no doubt). I guess conditions (and light) don't often happen like that, so no wonder you guys just stuck around there and hardly moved. What a gift. The waders looked like a dam good investment.

This is definitely a marvelous collection of images Mr. Gibbs. I like your suggestion of shooting both RAW and JPEGs. I have been doing this for sometime now. I find I often just want a smaller file size to quickly email to someone or post on Facebook. The JPEGs fit the bill. For these I'll quickly straighten, crop, tweak the contrast and saturation (if necessary) and Presto they're out the door. And then later for the few really "good" ones (it's all relative) I'll postprocess the RAW file in Lightroom, using the tips I've picked up from your vids. Best of both worlds. Thank you.

This Canadian Rockies series has to be a another high point in your photographic adventures. For me it rates up there with your ascent into the Rockies in winter where you captured snowfall at its finest. With this series, it seems to be one that just keeps on giving. Just being there must be a powerful experience. And as always, your aerial scenes are always appreciated and I know it does take a big effort. And, I like the transition from RAW to processed. It just works, the reveal. And I understand your comments on JPGs, it can work as well. Thanks for sharing.

I’ve been taking landscape pictures for about 10 years and I don’t think I would have noticed those lighter areas you cloned out (if it were my shot) until I got home and wouldn’t have had a chance to try getting that right in camera. I’m kind of ADDish and slowing down to inspect the back of the camera especially with a 3 inch screen is often something I don’t do enough of. Anyway, these Canadian Rockies pictures are all stunning! Thanks for sharing them.

Ah ha! The infamous wader series begins ! As a fisherman my only recommendation Adam is make sure the water never comes over the top or you'll be about three times heavier ! It's why you must NEVER wear them in a boat/canoe because if you fall overboard you'll weigh a ton and go straight to the bottom !!! On a more positive note, I'm thinking you're just taking the mickey now with so many stunning compositions :-) :-)

Great video Adam, fantastic autumn colour. When I first saw the RAW image at 14.45 I have to say my eyes widened and my heart skipped a beat, but when I saw your edited version, my heart sank. I loved the fantastic colour and the use of negative space, almost an image of tranquility (long exposure of water) and chaos (leaves and branches) combined. But, that is the beauty of a digital negative, you are not locked into one specific finished image. BTW I received your book and it is fantastic, well done mate!

Great video and pictures as usual, and so pleased to listen your words about jpeg. I think a good jpeg is much better than a bad editing of a raw file. I work essentialy my photos live on the field, taking care of all the things I want as good as possible : light, compo and subjet. In front of my pc, I just correct level, crop if it's need, and that it, almost. Le bonjour de Bretagne cher Adam.

Funny how you mention how nice a jpeg can turn out in this one. As you revealed the RAW files, I liked what was coming straight out of camera. I miss the days of contrast and lower dynamic range, to be honest! I'd rather experience a mood than be able to pore over fine details in every shadow.

I found your comment on the last image about JPEG's interesting as it's something I've been doing lately too. I've always shot in RAW format but recently I've been spending more time in the field experimenting with the different Fuji profiles and, as you say, if you have good light the JPEG's are really good and don't need so much tweaking in Lightroom. I can't put my finger on what the difference is but there's just a look to the Fuji film simulations that neither Lightroom and Capture One can quite match.

Really loving this theme Adam. We are so lucky we can see the determination you show for getting the feel and light of this lake and the submerged tree trunks. The colors in raw and just mouth watering and then you subtly lift them to jaq dropping. The water colour with the foliage and the gleaming trunks together is just .... 😍. Obviously many of us watch several landscape photography presenters and take what we can but hardly any include you, like you do. It really is a conversation that you have with the viewer where others take their methods beyond the reach of beginners and I guess the bulk of the viewers. Thank you so much for taking the time to share your techniques and time.
