Great to see. My Dad was the town crier in the video. He passed away in 2005 so really means a lot to see him on video - will show to his Grandkids who never got the chance to meet him. Thanks for sharing it.

Do you know where the ymca jazz club chester is . I have found a membership card dated 1961 of my mothers but can find no info about it

The Old Palace is a beautiful hidden gem of a building in the heart of the city centre which is now available ‘to let’ as offices or even as a hotel subject to planning. Originally built in 1751 for the Bishop of Chester, many may not even be aware of this magnificent grade II* listed building which overlooks the River Dee but has a secluded location behind Chester Civil Justice Centre and is adjacent to St John the Baptist’s Church. The one-time YMCA hostel was later converted to an office and served as the HQ for luxury travel group Elegant Resorts Ltd, which is now based on Chester Business Park. When the travel firm moved out, the building was put on the market for £2,410,000 and sold to its current owner, who prefers to remain anonymous.
