Chet Atkins "Jitterbug Waltz" (version 1)

Chet recorded quite a few waltzes...this one from the Hollywood album is one of the all time favorites.
this is version one..someday I'll treat you to the alternate cut of this tune...stay tuned!

so nice to hear the slow version of JW. too bad they put all those strings in. Seems that was a badge of success if you were not already mainstream pop. parker with strings, on verve, e.g.

There were radio stations back then playing an easy listening format. Most of the cuts played were orchestral arrangements. Atkins produced several LPs that fit this format. On one, he came back and totally redid his guitar part, so you will hear two versions of that project...I think that was chet Atkins in Hollywood. It is not “ too bad” about the strings....it’s what he wanted.
