There us a video somewhere (Indy Jamma Jones channel) with the awesome professional skater in the middle. Sorry I'm blanking on her name. She is with LA Roller Girls explaining the whole thing back when this video was released.

The three skaters in the music video, which was directed by Hiro Mirai, are Appelusa McGlynn, April Corley and Candice Heiden. All three are accomplished skaters from the Greater Los Angeles Area. The choreography in the video was done by Ryan Heffington. Awesome video!!!

One of the dancers, April Corley, was mistakenly bombed by an helicopter while in vacation in Western Egypt with a tour group. She will not be able to continue her dance career because of the injuries she sustained. Her longtime boyfriend Rafael died in the attack. This is one of the greatest videos of all time. My heart breaks knowing what happened to her.

From the Director I think people are surprised to hear that there is almost no post-work involved in this video. All of the skating and camera moves were done practically by driving down the same stretch of road 30 times. Post consisted of picking a few takes and stitching them together at transition points. I think there’re total of 4 shots combined together for the final video. The shoot itself was a lot of driving back and forth in the middle of nowhere, while making sure there weren’t any rocks that the girls could trip on. Our choreographer Ryan Heffington (who is incredible by the way) was on the back of the car yelling the count over a megaphone each take. It was a surreal scene. It was really in the middle of nowhere, so I think we scared a lot of people who happen to drive by us.

A kid recommended this song at a Halloween party last night and no one seemed to care or like it. This song was so good I couldn't stop bopping my head to it. I said out loud that this was one of the best songs I've heard in a while and the kid that recommended it couldn't stop smiling. I don't know. Just felt like telling a little story. Update (Feb, 9 2023): Since the new semester at my school started, I have a class with the kid in the story. We're good friends and I had a great night with him. We went to an antique shop, got a funny chain, went to a ramen place, went to his house, etc. Learned a lot about him. He has a dope history and is a pro at the yoyo, lol. He's a dope kid. Update #2 (April 10, 2023): We hang out a lot and we're great friends. Being around him is fun and I always have a good time. Last night we visited some abandoned places and I even got a picture of him sitting on top of a train, lol. I go over to his place a lot and I met his mom and her boyfriend. I even drew something for his mom. I like to draw a lot, lol. Update #3 (April 27, 2023): We consider each other close friends and he's always down to hang out if he's not busy. Great guy. Great music taste as well, lol. He put me on to some other songs that are in my playlist. Update #4 (June 8, 2023): We are good friends and hanging out every week. Sometimes multiple times a week. He recently took me to a lake to swim by the name of Hidden Beach. Or at least it used to be called that. It was super fun and he's down to take me again sometime. He's actually coming to pick me up so we can hang out right now, lol. He also got me into System Of A Down. They're pretty cool, lol. Update #5 (July 8, 2023): He goes to Alaska every summer and it's currently Summer here in Minnesota. I'm not able to hang out with him but I can't wait for him to get back. A little update on me tho. I just got a job and get paid well which means me and him could do a lot of more things. Now I just need to start learning how to drive, lol. I'll update more when he gets back. Update #6 (September 20, 2023): He got back from Alaska and two days after him getting back, I went to the Renaissance Festival with him, his mom and her boyfriend. They're all amazing people. I wasn't gonna dress up but his mom made me a wizard robe because she finds scraps and a bunch of other stuff and makes clothes out of it. She did an amazing job. I was there as a dark wizard, my good buddy was an executioner, his mom was a peasent herbalist, and her boyfriend was a peasent. They all looked super cool and did a great job. They missed my birthday and bought me a $190 fountain pen because I love writing and I write in cursive. Thay really did not have to do that and I told them that but they almost insisted on getting me something. I've never felt so loved by another family. Everything I receive from them I treasure and will always keep. They're wonderful people. The Renaissance Festival was really fun and I wore big rings as apart of my costume and some girl said they were cute so that was pretty nice, lol. We even got pizza afterwards. 😭 Update #7 (October 3, 2023): Last Friday, we hung out after school and we ended up going to some hippie party. Because my friend and his fam are hippies lol. I'm getring closer with his mom's bf and I'm starting to feel like a part of the family now. He even said that I'm always welcome. Makes me feel loved. So we were at this hippie party and there was this cool drum circle and some people were dancing and this dude had these light up balls on a string and he twirled them around and it looked super cool. After that, we were driving back to his house so he could drop me off at mine because he didn't bring his car and we got a flat tire 😭 It was raining kinda hard but we all didn't heaitate to get out and fix up the tire lol. Took like 30 mins. We all kinda bonded over that lol. Overall it was an adventurous night and it was pretty cool. More updates to come hopefully lol. Update #8 (October 29, 2023): I had weight loss surgery and am in recovery right now. All's goong good. But before that, I had to fast a little and him and his mom were doing it with me. They really didn't need to but they did. I've never felt so loved by a family. He visits me from time to time which is really nice. I can't eat anything for another week and he's been there fir me as well as some other friends. More updates to come. Update #9 (Dec 20, 2023): Ah man. Things are still super good. Recently me, him, his mom and her boyfriend started our own little band and we've had like two jam sessions so far. It was really fun and I found out I'm good at making up like punk and metal bass lines on the spot. These jam sessions are truly bringing out all of the talent we have within ourselves. I've never been so glad to have a friend in my life. Update #10 (January 28, 2024): Me and him have come so far together. Recently, we've gotten on facetime and he's helping me get into the habit of working out and is helping me better myself. I'm thinking of maybe making a little vlog on KZbin to document our days when we hang out and what it's like. I'll have to get his permission to do that though, lol. Stay tuned for more updates! Update #11 (Mar 22, 2024): Eze has gotten me into the habit of doing small workouts and I can feel myself getting stronger. I love that guy and he's such a great friend. He's helped me through so much. Just the other day we hung out and went to thrift stores looking for jackets to put patches on and stuff because his amazing mother said she'd make me a custom jacket with patches and all that cuz I love that stuff and always wanted something like it. Also, we both love a song called "My Favorite Monster" by Rotem Sivan. We are the only two likes on it and it's very underrated. Check it out if y'all can. Update #12 (Jun 7, 2024): We graduated high school. Me and him do a lot together and he's such an amazing friend. He drove me to graduation, switches caps with me cus mine was too small on my head, and I cheered for him when he walked across the stage. His mom cheered for me when I walked too. We're brothers at this point and his family are like my family. It's awesome.

Soooo this is actually an allegory of the sirens from greek mythology (not the fates). Hiro Murai, director of the music video, had mentioned to the actress Candice Heiden (the one in the middle) that her inspiration was to be of the sirens of the sea coming out from the dark. Here we have a case in which they lead a man to his death, similar to how some distracted while driving by beautiful girls would fail to notice a deer in the road. The deer is present to enforce the idea of "a deer in the headlights," in which the driver is stuck in the trance of the sirens. He has crashed and is implied to be dead, the sirens leave the scene. Do with that as you may in interpreting it through toxic and dangerous relationships.

Chet Faker is dead in a crash. Hands down. No doubt. The visual art emerges from the darkness on the shoulders of a near perfect primal aural foundation laid by Chet Faker. Discovered this music video back in 2016 . I keep going back to it to calm me whenever I read something on the internet that pisses me off . This music video is aesthetically entrancing . Skating a Dark Arizona Highway following a car going what ? 10 an hour ? Maybe 15? It’s just lovely . The road was recently paved because the yellow lines look new . @@Katiekay. She was in Egypt (in 2011?) when her tour bus was hit by Egyptian military for reasons unknown. 12 people died and she was VERY seriously injured. She lived, but only just. Her injuries were such that she'll never roll in a pair of skates again.
