On my 2009 Aveo hatchback: To remove the gas-line connector from the top of the old fuel pump, there is a white rectangular button on the side of the connector (which does not look like a button, unfortunately.) Press that in and the connector comes off easily.

Hey Rich, I am trying to fix a 2005 aveo with a p0300 code and I've determined I only get the code when the gas tank has more than 1/8 of a tank of gas. If it's around 1/8 of a tank left of gas I get no codes at all. The car runs fine at a full tank or 1/8 of a tank. I'm thinking its the fuel filter inside the fuel pump, or just a dumb sensor but don't have the money to replace one of these pumps. Could I try cleaning it when I remove the pump, or maybe put seafoam mixed in the gasoline? Thanks for your help!

The rings you're talking about on both sides to lift the bottom of the seat I can't see them in your video or in my Chevy aveo. Mine is not a LT, but I can't imagine that would matter. Could you post a clear picture of the rings you're talking about?

Does the chevy aveo has a fuel filter or no?
@kennethwalker69953 жыл бұрын
My 2009 Aveo Hatchback apparently does not have an 'exterior' in-line fuel filter; I looked under the car (in front of the rear passenger-side tire, where some websites mention it to be), but I do not see one. I'm told that the filter (or maybe 'strainer') is part of the fuel pump itself.

The Aveo does not have the inline filter that you can replace.

I have a question. I took my car to get fix because it wasn't coming in contact with my fuel. They changed some electronic part in the fuel pump. Since then every time I put gas in my car, my car stinks of gas. They are claiming that some gasket part needs to be fixed, and claim that there is no leakage, while I am doubting them. I am going to some other car shop, but wanted to ask you why would my car stink of gas? Did they mess up the entire fuel pump? or is there a gasket (a ring) that goes on the fuel pump? What do you think? Based on this video, I worry that my gas is leaking somewhere and that it is not just fumes.
@RichpinTv8 жыл бұрын
In this video you can see a red sealing gasket on the pump module when i remove it.
@marijap57368 жыл бұрын
If I am ordering it online, would I search for the "sealing gasket"? What would be the exact term I am searching for to find that part with ease?. The problem I am in is that I am in Europe and they don't have this part do buy for this model 2004 chevrolet. Thanks

Hey this video doesn't show how to get that stupid hose clamp off you kind of skipped that part how do you get the hose clamp off
@kennethwalker69953 жыл бұрын
I could not get my hand OR a short screwdriver into the restricted recess area, so I had to use a socket (7mm) with TWO universal-joint adapters, and a long extender to my ratchet wrench. Even then, after about half a turn of the ratchet each time, the universal joints 'locked up'. So I had to take the socket off the hose clamp's screw, spin the extender/universals a bit, then reattach, over and over again. Very tedious, because of the restricted space. It's obvious that the original fuel pump was attached to the gas tank BEFORE the tank was bolted to the car-- not like we have to do through the 'hatchway'.

Damn fuel pump bigger than the car

Can you take it apart and show the strainer. Suposedly there’s not fuel filter on this car BUT COME ON REALLY? If there isn’t I would like to see what the used pump looks like on the inside.
