The Chevrolet Captiva is a compact crossover SUV developed by General Motors. The first generation was developed by GM Korea, based on the GM Theta platform and derived from the S3X concept car revealed in 2004. The crossover straddles the entry-level SUV segments. Released in 2006, it was sold internationally as Chevrolet Captiva, in Australia as Holden Captiva and in South Korea as Daewoo Winstorm until 2011, when the international name was adopted. The Theta platform also underpins the Opel Antara. Designated C100 by Daewoo and CG in Holden's terminology, the Captiva was launched in 2006 Styling of the Captiva was inspired by the 2004 Chevrolet S3X concept car.

Bought this beast in 2016 and enjoying it everyday. Hugely underrated car Excellent in most departments.Excellent Power I mean 148 bhp is no joke and built like a tank, feels so safe and secure.But Average Indians are happy with Suzukis and Hyundais so Chevrolet Captiva is for the elite few.

hellow from europe here. what year did you have on your, did you have 2016 modell or you bought that 2016? what engine did you have? i can buy this car but 2010 very very dirt cheap a used one 3.2 l petrol engine, is that a good or bad engine/gearbox? i have heard this car have problems with engine and gearbox.. i can buy a old used one for only around 2000 usd around that, is that worth it?did you have automatic gearbox? any problems with the gearbox?

@superkadabra Yeah, although the earlier ones were rebadged Daewoos, they were extensively reworked to have a distinct Chevy flavor. However, That died with the Chinese products which were sought out to be outright economical.

My brother still has it, but he can't use it due to the restricted 10-year life of Diesel Vehicles in New Delhi. The car still runs good as new. The body does have some scratches and Dents but that's just every other car in New Delhi.

The Captiva, Cruze, Trailblazer and Beat were the only American cars we had in India. In America, I have a 2011 GMC Acadia which is based on the Captiva (if you don’t know what GMC is, it’s the premium offering of Chevrolet trucks)

@@charlefern sorry hadn't seen your reply.. amazing feel while riding it.. especially when you fill up people and go on a road trip.. maintainance depends on your local mechanics.. generally i spend around 5-7k with each visit ( added any cost I faced due to small parts maintainance, excluding tires)..

Daewoo had their hand too while making those cars. Specifically this, the Beat, the Cruzes too in those years. Kind of a venture. Some even say Cruze were purely made by Daewoo under the brand of Chevrolet with GM. But as Daewoo wasn't much of a name in markets and no one trusted it, GM never revealed that. Trades with their own secrets.

@@manojdvs3489 yes, it is good but the person who used this was very rough and careless guy, but the car is pretty big and feels like a fortune. Mileage is low though around 11 to 12 km’s, I can answer all your questions regarding this car.

@@manojdvs3489 look I will be very true with you, since Chevrolet left so the parts became costly and the attitude of the service centre is above all, parts will be expensive that’s true and regular servicing will be like around Rs. 7k to 10k, also they will charge extra to evaluate what work is needed or if any part needs to be replaced with new, they will not repair any part, remember this. Whereas you can get its service done from mechanic at nearby roadside workshop for around Rs. 2500, including 6 lt Diesel engine oil and all filters, greasing and other things.
