I think a manual Z51 is a really good bang for your buck. That's what I'm looking for.

Also in 2008 the base model LS3 manual cars got the TR6060 transmission which was rated at 700ft/lbs and a vast improvement over the previous T56.

U forgot to mention about the reliability of these cars, that plays a big factor, like can u daily drive? Or is the car good for long terms? What to look out for?...

In 2012 they upgraded the seats a little.

Do you think the force spoke steering wheel is uglier than the cobalt steering wheel? I wish they would have kept that wheel

Good review. Looking at buying a 2013 grandsport. Really like the look of it and the Z06. Just wish they had targa top on Z06.

Thanks for the video. I'm buying a 2010 Grand Sport in a couple of weeks and couldn't be more excited! Plainly for discussion, very curious why a car guru such as yourself would ever choose an automatic transmission? If you're into cars you get a manual transmission...no question.
@TheCarVlogger7 жыл бұрын
Not even close. Look at some of the biggest car people and every single one of them has some automatic. A lot of some really great driving cars aren't even offered with a manual and that's fine. In this day and age with PDK and other dual clutches the idea that you need to have a manual is an ancient mindset. Three pedals are more fun for sure and I do prefer them (2 of my 3 corvettes have been manual) but life and driving habits change and long daily commutes in stop and go traffic mean automatics are the way to go for now.

2012 had a very important change in automatics, the shifting was much much faster with the paddles, the delay is almost gone.

2012 the seats were slightly improved
@TheCarVlogger7 жыл бұрын
They were better but still a far ways away from great. C7 seats are just about a perfect balance of sporty yet still retain usability and comfort.
@4everyoung8695 жыл бұрын
2012 they changed the seats and steering wheel, and had the 100th year carbon edition and they added magnetic control

Steeze stay away from the 2005 at all cost. All kinds of issues

AlusionFPS nothing is terribly wrong with the earlier C6s but for years 08+ they have the ls3 motors. If you can find a cheap c6 any year grab one. You can find great ones around 15-18k not too many miles. The years 8+ will have many of the issues earlier models had; fixed. And also join corvetteforum! I too am looking for c6 but those later models. I own a c5 which I daily and he's beast but it's time I get something a little nicer. I also bought him last year when I was 19 and insurance for me is $210/month not too bad. I paid $9999.99, super great deal!! My credit is above 720 as of now and will be getting good loan to get a great c6 with mods. Wish you the best of luck brother. Happy hunting!

AlusionFPS im 19 i just bought my first c6 vette for 19k. 05, Black, manual with 64k miles... definetely got it for a good deal. For ur first corvette i want to say get the ls2 motor because its cheaper than the ls3 (2008+) so for example i couldve bought an 08 ls3 vette for the same price but it would have no nav, no premium sound, no z51 package, and it would probably have to be an automatic since they are cheaper.. basically what im getting at is that if you could care less about the bells and whistles and dont give a hell if ur vette is a complete base-base model with 0 features and u just want pure speed. Then get an 08+ because its a better more powerful motor. However if ur like me and want to enjoy the car itself rather than just going fast then get an ls2 thats loaded with options.

J Wa pppfffff you sir have 0 knowledge about vettes... Same thing told me my neighbor when i bought my c5 97..."oh you bought a first year production? Expect many issues." etc.. The only issue i had was wheel bearings thats it and i think it was due to the last owner never changed them... About getting a 2005 as a first year production on the c6 generation and worry about problems? Lmao that's stupid to think you gonna have all kind of problems as you say just because is first year... Every brand every year have issues... So don't get mad but everything is about how you treat your car no because the year
@panzerwaffen28736 жыл бұрын
J Wa all kind of issues...lol like what?

would i be missing out on manual if i get an auto one ? my choices are manual LS2 or Auto LS3 which would be faster in a straight line ? i've been on manual side all my life but im not sure if the sacrifice for LS3 is worth it
@TheCarVlogger7 жыл бұрын
Auto LS3 would be quicker without any doubt, but mostly because of the transmission. I wouldn't get too hung up on the differences on an LS2 vs LS3, having driven and owned both I can tell you that you will not feel any difference from them. Pick with your heart on this one, I enjoy the auto in my GS but without a doubt I miss my clutch pedal.

So I'm currently looking for a C6 Corvette has to have the LS3 motor but unfortunately I have to buy an Auto transmission because my wife will use it as well & she doesn't know how to drive with 3 pedals. Between the 2008-2013 is there a glaring difference between the automatic transmission within those years? Like is the 13 transmission a lot faster than the 08? Or are they basically the same? Thanks in advance for your time & sorry if I sound uneducated on the subject as this will be my first Corvette purchase.
@TheCarVlogger5 жыл бұрын
There were no significant changes that I'm aware of. I would say as far as options I would look into getting a 12 so you get the upgraded seats and steering wheel which some people do like (or a centennial edition which are really cool) or stick with an 08 as you would spend less and no real significant changes were made.
@nstg84 жыл бұрын
Sounds like your wife needs to learn how to drive stick.
