I just bought one two weeks ago. Sold our house after 30 years.. I Will be 63 in August... Wife said I deserved it for working so hard over all those years. Told myself day before wasn't going to buy another sports car. Drove passed the car lot, seen the car that they just got in on trade the day before. Wasn't even on the lot yet. Off to the side.. stuck.out like a sore thumb. Stop talked to the sales man. Monday, 3 days later my wife wrote a check... Early birthday present. It deff makes up for selling my last sports car.. 2008 28k. Coupe. Fully loaded, I am in love with it.. it has several upgrades. I am truly blessed to be able to outright own it....amazing car..

I am 5'5" and have a 2011 and a 2012 C6. They are both convertibles with about every option. When compared to other Corvettes especially the C7 and C8 I like the clean styling of them. They are great in every way and the interior should not have been condemned so much and the car should not have been ridiculed when the C7 appeared. I am very happy with them and certainly would not part with them for a measly $25,000.

Too funny yes 57 years old I just bought a 2007 Corvette. I’ve been in jaguars Mercedes and all different kind of cars. Our first car was what is a 1967 five or Firebird convertible three speed so this is pretty interesting to ride. I haven’t driven in a car like this in quite a while so I’m quite happy.

I am in my 50s with a Corvette and I am fine with it. My first new car at 21 y/o was a Pontiac Trans Am(still have) prior to that, I had the Camaro, Firebird, Chevelle SS and Monte Carlo. Later in life had BMW, Lexus and Volvo, it's all about the driving experience, not trying to be "young" again or pick up women, just something to enjoy in these trying times!!

Ok, I'm that guy... not mid-life crisis, but a retirement present to myself, when I had to sell my motorcycles because of health, I bought a 2012 GS convertible... I'm at the age where the goodies in your trunk are in my past sadly, but about the car -- it's a blast and I chuckled at some of your points about the interior... you're right... who really cares? But I still have a bit of fight left in me, so I bought a set of headers and had them installed and dyno-tuned and let's just say it is even more fun... I'm tall like you are, so your video reminded me of that - we're kind of stuffed into the Vette. I chuckled about the 'large speedo, so you can tell just how fast over the speed limit you are going'... yep! lol. And, you are right, keeping the traction control ON, because these cars are not passenger cars like we all drive, they are sports cars, and power to weight is way-way-more different... mine does have some more goodies like magnetic-ride control, and HUD, etc, but yeah, the car is a blast down the interstate... it's my summer vacation on wheels! I am 6 ft 318 lbs, my 2007 was a Targa top and it was like putting a condom on but my o6 is a convertible and sooo much better to get in or out, I just slide down the seat back. In my other Vettes I got compliments occasionally however my convertible 06 in white with chrome wheels gets complimented every single day usually several times a day!

One note, the c7 is also of the same chassis family, many parts interchange and it also has the “transaxle” layout. The c5-c7 are a great double a arm chassis that is pretty timeless from a performance standpoint.

I have watched the video several times and couldn’t agree with you more. I have a 2008 Z51 3LT option package with dual mode exhaust. The car is identical to yours. The best color scheme for a C6 in my opinion. I also use it as my daily driver except when it snows. Every time I get in my Corvette I have a big smile on my face. I also have a 94. I still love and enjoy that also. Drive on. Thanks for the video.

WeatherTech has a great cup holder phone mount available. It fits most cupholders as you can adjust to fit. It costs $35 plus $8 shipping. I bought one for my 2013 MBZ E350. I would recommend it.

However..as mentioned there is no real problem with using it as a daily driver...which is where some amenities become more appreciated.

Great job, I’ve owned a 2005 , C6 manual red convertible, since 2007. I agree with all your points. The C7 is even better, but I’m having too much fun in my C6 to bother trading it in. The only thing I’ve done is install a Kenwood double din, to get blue tooth, and added some camera’s , front and rear. Can’t wait for summer.

I definitely like the C6 Corvettes as I had a 2005 new and a 2008 new. Both of convertibles and the 2008 was a Callaway car. In fact, the 2005 I had was the same color combination you have. Loved them both, great riding cars and can't say anything negative about them and never had any issues with the convertible electric tops and either car. Good luck with yours.

I had a ‘06 C6 Z51 3LT couple this same color “Monterey Red”! We bought it with 34K miles and sold it with 102K! It was hands down the best Corvette. We drove it to the Corvette museum in Kentucky....and then onto the Dragon’s Tail in Tennessee and into North Carolina. It got 30 mpg....all day long on that trip.....and it only needed a rear wheel bearing....covered under warranty the whole time we owned it. It handled like a go cart and we need our 7 day trip driving it over the Mena Arkansas mountains before coming home back to Texas. I wished I’d never sold it.....but I wanted a C7 Z06 with 650 HP! Soon as the kids are out of College....I’ll have enough saved to buy a good used C7 Z06! Not a fan of the C8.....but to each their own. Great video! Was good to see my old Corvette....if only in a convertible.....racing around in that video. Keep up the good work!

I finally have my dream car. It’s an 06 Vette, it had to be Malibu Red, hard top/convertible, auto/paddle shift, which I love. If you’re driving in the mountains, you shift down going up & shift down going down the hill (saves the breaks). I like it in traffic, too. If someone’s ridding my behind, I just keep down shifting & watch their reaction. I’ve always wanted a corvette since they first came out (shows you how old I am). I used to work on cars with my dad, he raised a “tomboy”. My husband had Parkinson’s Disease & I was his 24/7 caregiver for over eleven years. He always gave me a bad time about how I wanted one. He’d say, “Wanting & needing are two different things” Six months before he past, he told me I should get that Corvette I’ve always wanted. I told him it was as good as ordered. I absolutely love this car, I drive it everyday. People ask me if it’s my only car & I tell them of course. It’s like diamonds, if you’ve got ‘em, wear ‘em. I use my china & crystal very day as well. OK, I’m 74 & I’m not slowing down. My license plate says, “THANKS-T”, for my husband. I just wish he were here to enjoy it with me. Life is short, if want a Corvette, get one. Don’t keep saying, maybe tomorrow, cause before you know it, tomorrow is yesterday. Enjoy yourself, that’s what it’s all about.

What an incredible story, thank you for that Susan. That’s actually a very similar case with the Corvette in the video. The owner was mid 50s and his father was passing away. For the past couple years he went and looked at various vettes but never pulled the trigger. Finally he realized that his father was on his death bed and that gave a revelation to him about just how short life is, and you can’t take the money with you. He purchased this vette and was able to take his father for one ride in it before he died just weeks later. Enjoy your C6 Susan, you worked hard for it and it brings me joy knowing the car is out there on the road being driven like it should, as opposed to sitting in a garage under a cover. Great job! Really enjoyed your straightforward, clear explanations and descriptions. Also love you gripe about all those whiners who demand a luxury interior experience from a high value sport car. When the interior in question is in a car costing 10's of thousands less than its competitors, expect a bit less where a sport car can be less (interior) and stop complaining. Truth is the interior they are bitching about is actually very nice and comfortable as it is in your 2006. If the car does not massage their butts they are not happy. I own that exact 2007 convertible in the same maroon color with the cashmere interior. Mine however has auto trans which puts the gearshift on the steering wheel. Mine also has the volume control and channel changer on the steering wheel. I just wanted to mention that those options were available. I think it's one of the best Corvettes ever designed.

The car test driven appears to be the base, LT1 model. No head-up display. No heated seats. Basic wheels. Although the brakes have been upgraded to drilled discs. I've just moved up from an '06 C6 LT3 convertible to a comparable '19 C7 LT3 convertible. I wouldn't have thought the C6 could be improved. Until I drove and bought the '19 C7!

I have a 2010 C6 and without a doubt each time I drive it it brings a smile to my face and a joy to my ears. I have no intentions of ever getting rid of it and stay on top of the maintenance and upgrades that aid to its performance and appearance. I’m definitely one of those blue collar workers you described with the exception that I grew up 20 miles outside of Detroit and always saw the new models hit the streets. I have been in love with Corvettes since a young boy and promised myself I would own one. My wife knew my dream and bought my C6 brand new as a Christmas present, so as you can see, my Corvette is not the only “keeper” I have in my life.

C7 Coupe owner...Previously owned 3 C4's and 2 C5's...plan on trading my C7 in on one of these...C7's have incredibly small passenger seats, are too gimmicky without traditional gauges and have too much Lamborghini in them... The C6 is much more of the traditional Corvette guy's Corvette!!!

When you look at the Corvette new and it's $60k+ it's easy to say the interior should be better. As a used sub-$25k car the interior is fine. Why are you comparing a used Corvette to a new V-6 Mustang or a Miata? Why not compare to a used V8 Mustang or Camaro, etc.? Of course a used car will be better value.

I appreciate your comments about the Vette. I hear so many people talking smack about it being an "old man" car. Well, maybe so. But maybe, just maybe.... those old men have lived long enough to understand value -- to understand that their life's work was in America, working American jobs with AMERICAN pride. Maybe it's about the history of those crossed-flags -- driving the namesake their fathers and grandfathers did when they were young. And many of these newer Vette owners lived through the 70's and 80's when REALLY terrible American cars were being made, so they don't find the interior so bad after-all. I live in Kentucky, about an hour and a half from the Corvette plant and museum. All one needs to do is visit and see the wanderlust in everyone's eyes as they walk the displays reading--- and soaking up Corvette history. So, yes. I'm an old man. But I got here honestly and proudly. I'll drive a Corvette.

I enjoyed a 2008 C6 convertible for a number of years. I enjoyed your review and it is spot on except you better have very good snow tires to daily drive a C6 in New Hampshire. Those wide tires are like snow skis otherwise in snow. Thanks for the video.

Very Sweet Vette. I have a 2008, Crystal Clearcoat Tint Red ... same color inside. I do have the volume on the steering wheel, dule mod exhaust and FAST!! 😀 So mine is a 436 hp all original and will be a classic in a few year!! Love Your Video, keep up with the Great Work!! C7 Stingray! But I love your video and the C6 that you Demo it is also a car that I must have. But since I can only have one or the other then I’ll bite the bullet and get the C7 maybe the 2020 at this point. I hunger for massive horsepower and massive Torque - I want that Super saturated deep Harleyesque type sound. Many supercars that could deliver that deep saturated SOUND deliver instead a more hollowed out almost French horn quality. obviously I’m being very subjective so I hope you follow me. Anyway you did a fantastic job on your video! You’re a great deliverer of information. Many people may speak well but ramble and get lost in their thoughts or stumble around and mix up their ideas and fill in the empty spaces with all kinds of unconscious noises and “uh...’s,” “umm...’s” “let’s see...” whatever’s good, ya know dude...ummmmm... know what I mean...? I have a 2005 victory red C6 automatic. Hatchback The wife and son can not drive stick. That's ok. I love this car. The paint looks new i had it buffed out and ceramic coated. Tinted the windows, a dash cam and borla exaust...it is a head turner I get compliments evrrywhete I go..it is very affordable ins. And cost...cant beat it...its a weekend car so gas is no big deal....I love this car..I just turned sixty....

Love your article. Bought my '09 (3LT) in '11 from first owner when it had 24K mi. He installed a COMP cam (115 LSA), cold air intake, LG headers and the LS3 turned slightly more HP than the stock LS7 for that yr model. The car is quick enough for a grocery-getter. Here in Tx I can get to the store for Blue Bell ice cream and back home before condensation forms on the carton !! I didn't understand much about the design before I got the car but after driving it, my hat goes off to all the folks in Bowling Green !!! Amazing vehicle for the $$$$

The c6 was a flop to me. In no way do I consider myself a Corvette purist but the styling fell on its face from the previous c5 or the newer c7. Going to a non flip up headlight didn't bother me but I wish it was designed better. The front fascia looked like it took 20 years backwards and no longer stands out. Unless you step up to the grandsport, zo6 or zr1 the fascia remains fairly boring. At least on the base c5 or c7 the styling still looks good and not like every other car on the road. As for this specific vehicle the ls2 is the least desirable. The ls3 is a much better motor that makes alot more power. Yes I understand theirs more power with the ls7 or ls9 but this segment is talking about a sub 25k car. If I'm shopping I'm gonna find an ls3 Vette first. As for the interior it's a hit or mis. Seeing as I owned a crappy 2007 Cobalt this Vette has the SAME steering wheel lol!!! My Cobalt at least had volume controls and cruise control buttons on it which is more than this Vette and that's truly sad. Gauges are nice looking and the stereo is typical gm fashion. Convertibles make you look like your 90, are a bit heavier, noisier, and just don't have a cool factor. You pass this Vette up and you won't even look at it. Wouldn't be the best 25k Vette to buy imo. If I had 25k to spend on a Vette I'd buy a much better looking c5 zo6 or at least a c6 hard top ls3. This is just my views and I understand others have different wants/desires in a vehicle.

Funny. My C7 has two buttons for seat presets...button 1, no shoes...button 2, with shoes. Wouldn’t even attempt to drive it in western boots, so “good onya”.

I have a C6 Coupe (2007) that I use as a daily driver. I put 125 miles a day six days a week to go to work round trip. I love the ride> I love the mileage (31 mpg) and most important I love the look and style of the car. It is one of those vehicles that you get to have everything.
