My 1995 Chevrolet Silverado truck had a hesitation problem, which we were able to fix by replacing some parts. My Chevrolet truck would idle fine and passed the Emissions test, and there were no check engine lights, but there was hesitation when I stepped on the gas pedal. The engine would bog down or almost stalled out instead of going faster. To fix this hesitation problem with it on my Chevrolet truck, we replaced the fuel pump, the catalytic converter, and the distributor. This is a very tricky problem to diagnose, and there could be a number of causes, which I go over in the video. It could be as simple as a clogged fuel filter, which would cost $20 to fix. Or it could be a very expensive fix it like a catalytic converter or a fuel pump. If you're Chevrolet truck has the same problem, and it doesn't accelerate like you think it should, look at the things I point out in this video, and replacing one of them will fix the problem. My Chevrolet Silverado has a 5.7 L 350 V-8 engine, but if you had a V6 engine, the same problems could happen.
Here is where to order a repair manual to help you fix the common problems on your truck:
