Do you prefer the u-joints with the retaining clip on the inside over the ones with the retaining clip on the outside
@backwoodzcustomz15494 жыл бұрын
It doesn't really matter. But you have to use the proper one for application.

I have a 2001 Blazer ZR2. You described a vibration coming from the rear as a symptom of the U-joint going bad? What other symptoms do bad U-joints have? Mine is starting to vibrate, sounding like a hum coming from the rear and it makes a clunk when I shift from Park to Drive. Is that another sign of bad U-joints? It has about 170K on the clock.
@backwoodzcustomz15494 жыл бұрын
Sounds like a bad u joint. Put it in park and climb under, turn the shaft and see if the joints have slop.
@Gregwsampson4 жыл бұрын
The "clunk" when shifting is universal joint going bad.

@@backwoodzcustomz1549 you could also end up pulling it back out 3 days later to replace the other one... js. they are the same age and mileage. 🤷🏼♂️

It's not know they have the same mileage on them... It also like saying I my trans blew up.. I should replace my rear axle, front diff, t case and motor.... To each is there own... Also then you would have to do all the joints on the front shaft too.... Lastly it been like 4 years and all I joints are fine...

It will cause a vibration for sure.. Just climb under and give them a twist and shake to see if tgey are tight.
