Chevy Colorado - GunBox - ESP Truck Accessories Crew Cab Under Seat Safe

I do a bunch of trail running and leave my vehicle parked at trailheads and public access points for hours at at time. Upon returning from runs, I have seen many smashed out windows of other cars that have been burglarized. There is a big drug problem in the area which results in a lot of theft.
The problem I have is the 2021 Chevrolet Colorado does not have a locking glove box or console to store valuables. I needed a solution. I picked a locking box that is concealed under the crew cab seat. I can lock up my valuables when hitting the trail. It is also great because I always bring a firearm with me when on a road trip for when the SHTF. As a responsible gun owner, the lock box keeps the firearm safe, secure, and out of sight.

Received and installed mine. Great quality and needed storage options for this current “defund the police” movement.👍 one more note, got some cheap acoustic foam off Amazon the 12x12 squares. Used 3 and a half squares. Works great as a cushion liner pulse a few magnetic motion bar lights for Night lights👍👍👍

I’m not concerned about my neighbors stealing anything. I live in an ultra liberal area. People live in fear of an inanimate object and cast judgements. And I doubt they would be looking for gun boxes in YT. 😂😂

I have had 2 colorados, one was a 2017 colorado lt and I traded it for a 2019 colorado zr2 and I hate not being able to fit an AR under the back seat. It looks like they did it on purpose where it just barely doesn't fit but there is plenty of room to have made it work.

Anit-Gun truck designer conspiracy theory! :) This lockbox is such a nice addition. I went for a long trail run with a buddy and I went to lock up his cell phone, ID, credentials, etc, and he though the lockbox was the coolest part of the truck.

I order this vehicle just this past Saturday. Just over $47000 but it will take 10 weeks they sell fast so no one has any on the lot. The wife and I are older and decided to splurge while we can still function as adults and not use all our retirement savings on some retirement facility where we pay our hard earned money for abuse and not getting our diapers changed. We may convert the storage under the seat for weapons. Rifles and pistols but need a locking mechanism. I subscribed because I like you attitude. LOL.

Joaquin, congrats on the new truck. I didn't know they were selling so fast, I got mine back in October 2020. As Teddy Roosevelt said, we either rust out or wear out, I choose to wear out. I am not sitting around & waiting for my diapers to hopefully be changed either! No guarantee I will live that long anyways.The lockbox does have a small key lock, but a guy could do an eye bolt through the floor of the truck and then run a cable through the action/trigger and padlock a weapon inside the lockbox if you are looking for additional security.

Howdy neighbor, check out the Hornady Rapid vehicle safes. I have the Ext cab so no rear storage for me. The Hornady allows me the keep a cheap bottom feeder in my truck that is secure and just a few seconds from my hand. It's legal in Orygun.

Steven, I never saw that product, just checked it out. Pretty cool, love how it could be swapped out between vehicles. It would also be great to take into a hotel room/residence and cable lock to something heavy. I've done a lot of traveling with handguns and always had to come up with ingenious ways to secure them in hotel rooms back in the day when safes weren't standard features in rooms. Isn't everything legal in Oregon nowadays? :)

@@TheDisillusioned1811 It has a air bladder that makes it fit tight between the seat and counsel, there is a steel cable that you wrap around then seat frame. A well equipped thief could steal it. Check out the "Huracan tailgate storage" I just got one, need to install.

Very very poor and design behind the locking mechanisms on the lock Box / A cordless drill with the right bit will drill right through those locks/ Not to mention they could be easily picked with a paper clip or bobby pin 🤷‍♂️

Two points: First most smash and grab thieves do not carry cordless drills with them or any other tools for that matter except for perhaps a screwdriver or a broken spark plug on a string. They look in the window and break in IF they see something of value. That box is not easily seen, even from inside the truck unless you lift the rear seat. Second, while the locks may not be the strongest, the ones on my ESP box are much sturdier than the average cam style lock AND, they can easily be swapped out for the lock of your choice. I have actually been looking for locks requiring a harder/better key, but have yet to find one with as sturdy a body and cam mechanism.
