I took mine off to see if the orange nipple is still there. It is but now I cannot for the life of me get the hose to clip back onto the intake. Idk what to do

It is, just grab something to hit it on top, not too hard just solid so it sits on right.

Is there a way to check the pcv hose to see if it's defective? I'm getting boost in my valve cover and it blew oil out of the rear of the cover. I replaced the valve cover and intake manifold, took it out for a text drive and after about 15 mins it blew oil out again. This is the only part that I didn't change.

I believe if you take the valve cover off, you can test the diaphragm with your finger and see if it is leaking. There is a warranty bulletin out from GM , it will extend the warranty on the diaphragm until 120,000 miles.

I replace a failed engine and when replacing this PCV hose iI could not get it to seat. I looked inside the manifold elbow and there was an o-ring and a plastic washer. The old tube did not have the o-ring and washer. I cannot find any mention of the o-ring and washer in any diagrams or or parts lists. Is there supposed to be a washer and o-ring inside the elbow that mates with the intake manifold?

Yes mine did have it o ring goes in first and then there is an outline you can see where the plastic washer slips in. It is a big difficult to get it in but it definitely goes in there

thank you, tonight I decided to check my pcv system after an oil change nd when pulling off the hose the plastic washer nd oring came off nd dropped in engine bay nd been tryna figure this out, now time to remove the rtv lol nd get a new hose or correctly put it together 😂

Removing the connectors on the back side of the housing I broke the piece that connects it and no idea what it would be called or where to start to replace it

just an info, when the check valve of the pipe is faulty it blocks the air in both directions or makes it pass in both directions ?..

Video was great but....Bypass valve tip broke when unplugging the skinny hose. now I dont know if I should by the whole turbo for 500 or the bypass for 300. Beyond annoyed. Any suggestions?

I'm in the same situation, what I'm going to try is putting a small plastic tube through the broken nipple so it can hold itself in place, I'm going to put baking soda around the break and then put super glue. Hopefully it holds and doesn't cause a vacuum leak. It's a very very tight space to try and get to so we'll see how it goes.

If anybody else broke their bypass valve tip /nipple when removing the vaccum line you can buy them online around 20-70 , this part can be replaced from underneath with a jack or you can work from the top but you’ll be removing a lot of stuff ,(not recommended if your hoses are already worn out or you’re not a mechanic)

I didnt bother putting the new bypass hose (small one), as the back side seemed like a huge pain in the ass to get to that hose clamp. I have no idea how he easily removed it with a trim tool (a close up of the removal would help). Id call bullshit but i clearly am coming here for information so what do i know. Ill see if my codes go away and deal with it if it comes back.

If you have a code it will need clearing, no reprogramming.

There is a metal clip to remove the top portion. Don’t be like dad forcing something off and regretting it.
