This video helped a lot with my 2013 Volt. Same engine. I changed the coil pack, spark plugs, o2 sensor. Ended up being the valve cover 😢. Random misfire P0300 was my main cel. Thanks!

you probably will need to replace the intake manifold along,,this is a known issue

​​​@@LOLONO666 Yup intake manifold for sure along with camshaft position sensors rubber gaskets and the other check valve which is a plastic formed hose and probably the turbo bypass vacuum actuator. Seems this pcv issue over pressures the whole system and ruins a few things. I've replaced everything except the turbo vacuum actuator I believe it's the culprit behind a p2226 code.

Replacing the valve cover is only a temporary fix, eventually it will need to be replaced again after some random amount of time. The Pressure Control Valve inside the intake manifold is the root cause and without replacing that or using an aftermarket by pass it will just keep happening and will cause other problems as well. This GM engine is literally the worst engine ever designed in modern times.

We replaced the (3rd) valve cover on the car, added the bypass system, replaced the plugs, coil pack, oil, (handled the built-up oil blowback on the block) and 4 months later, same P1101 code, rough idle/low RPMs, and now over heating, too - adding coolant too often and no apparent leak I can find (cracked reservoir was replaced roughly a year or so ago). I'm thinking a vacuum leak (like I told the mechanic 2.5 years ago when it started). I just don't want to throw a bunch of money at this car, hoping it's the right "fix" each time

@@mistywilson2358do you have an update? I have a ‘15 that I got at 104k and had the valve cover replaced before I got it. I now know why it was sold in the first place lol. I don’t have vacuum leak on the valve cover thing, just the pcv was gone so I bought the bypass kit. This was a few months ago and I assumed it would quick sucking oil out of the block. I have noticed random rough idle sitting at stop lights and sometimes it will almost die so I was going to take the throttle body off to clean it and found the oil problem. I had still been smelling burning oil but wrote it off as the old burning off. I don’t know what else to do. I checked and the glued in pcv valve is still there. I had also replaced the evap purge because it clicked crazy loud. I don’t have the money to keep putting into this car.

Hi there, I'd did a video recently about transmission failure symptoms. But to noticing a failure on a automatic transmission is easy, it will take longer to shift from gear, or it will jump or in to gear and you will feel it inside your car, sometimes is because, low transmission fluid

I have a 2016 Cruze Limited, recently has started making a ticking noise when I accelerate and the ticking tempo gets faster the harder I press the gas, any ideas?

For me the ticking was coming from the ignition coil

@@TylerSpite That's awesome, i wish i could get my 2016 to run smooth again. I'm currently going down the pcv rabbit hole. I swear if i ever get the check engine light to go off, I'm trading it in. I have replaced 2 of the 3 PCV valves. new cool air intake new plugs new ignition coil. I love my 35 MPG but WTF chevy, can't it just work.

@@danielray6574 mine hasn’t been terrible, I’ve replaced the valve cover once, thermostat once and now I gotta replace he coolant pump piece but I’ve done it all myself so really hasn’t cost me too much, they’re just cheap to work on that’s why I like the Chevy cars

Zero coolant in the reservoir too. Cruze is just a pile of garbage

The thermostat housing tends to crack on first gen. Overpressures the coolant system causing whack-a-mole type leaks. Had to change mine on my 2011 1.4l 2 years ago and no more problems with that. hope that helps

Dumbest design ever invented. PCV valve is integrated into the cover, so you can't just buy a cheap valve-- you have to buy the entire cover. There's another check valve built into the intake that is the same-- if it's missing, you have to buy the entire Intake Manifold. smh. it's insane

indeed a shitty design, there is a kit that bypasses this and gives you a replaceable pcv valve. what typically blows the valve cover is the intake manifold pcv failing so it should stop that.
