Thanks for the video. You actually explain everything. Helped me a lot.

Holy crap I woulda been so sad without this video! You made it basically painless (aside from the pinkie I hit with a 4 lb hammer, which I'll blame GM for), which is pretty incredible considering how much this job SUCKS. A couple notes for other knuckle busters out there: If you use the amazon link in the shopping list, make sure to get the "88-02" chevy door pin option. 135 mm. Consider taking the time to read the compatibility section at the bottom before you confidently press buy. I also recommend taking more time to read all kinds of things: recipes, books, bathroom stall poetry. Reading enriches your world. Regarding the roller pin video (sorry too lazy to comment on both and if yr doing roller pins then yr doing hinges), I was able to bust the thing off with a hammer and chisel in no time at all. I did bend one roller pin trying to bash it in. Went back with the conical bit and took a little off and the next one went in fine. ALSO, I had no cause to gut my door (handles are find for now) but boy is that thing heavy! If, like me, you had to leave your floor jack stranded in a storage unit in southern Idaho, two cinder blocks does seem to put it at about the right height, give or take a brick. I ended up spending more than I anticipated on this project (that conical bit was pricey but the door wasnt going back on without it and the money I mighta saved shopping around wouldn't have meant much if I left my doorless truck parked on the street overnight and woke up with only a door), but boy were those special tools worth it! I pray I never have to use them again. Anyway thanks.

I found some hinge bushing that are steel on amazon after having a few brass one crack a few months after being installed. I hate these hinge bushings almost as much as the oem tail lights!

You are going to be disappointed with those soft Dorman pins...I spent the ridiculous money on the OEM ones after trying the Dorman. Check out the bushings from Cunningham machine if you want a quality solution so that you only have to do this once.

I've done 6 or 7 trucks and cars with these and never had an issue. Most folks pound them in which causing cracking even before the pins are installed, that's why they must be pressed in.

Wow those seats look insanely comfy. What vehicle are they from? Also thanks for the video, I'll be doing this to mine soon. Very good info

Hi those are from a 1999 Pontiac Bonniville (92-99 are about the same seats) most of the late 80s to 1999 GM cars have the same bolt pattern as the GMT400 truck seat brackets. Here is the vid how I installed them about 3yrs ago kzbin.info/www/bejne/enu3faKLqb53pc0 Starting in 2000 most of the GM car seats went with the integrated seatbelts and they changed the mounting brackets completely. In my option one of the best bolt in seats would be the sports seats from a 1989-91 Cadillac Eldorado about impossible to find but they are great seats.
