Chevy Impala 05’ Security Light Reset

I had the same issue on my 04 LS but the 10 min thing didn't work. I ended up jumping a small wire from the engine device fuse (just because it only had power when the key was on) in the lower fuse box under the hood to the lower left terminal on the start relay in the upper fuse box. Every fuse in the upper box had power all the time. The wire by passed my problem and the car starts and seems fine. It all started when the car was started 5-6 times with the door opened while bleeding brakes and the security light came on and then it wouldn't start. It took 2 days to figure out a 5 min fix and I still have the brakes to finish.

It worked after 3 times but i did have to close the doors...2000 impala relearning the key

When I try to do the 10 min relearn, the security light never blinks it just alternates from battery and security. Ive let it sit multiple times for over 20 mins and its never gone away. I only changed my old cylinder because it wouldn’t go into the off position anymore.

@@jeanemil8988 it was a pain to figure out but I eventually figured out a way around it. I removed and soldered the original passlock sensor to the wires to trick the car into thinking the old cylinder was still installed.

My security light wont go off after the 10 minutes 🤔 I even left it for 45 minutes and still wouldn’t go off any idea? I did the same as u in replacing tumblr

I got the same problem no blown fuses... bought a new tumbler... cant get the light security to go away...

So my car was working in may when I bought it its a 2000 impala ls with a 3.8 and 94,457 miles on it it recently started acting funny not starting I would wait but no start but every morning when I went to start it it would start but on aug 22 it stopped working completely I just replaced the ignition switch and a ignition lock cylinder chevy quoted me 800 dollars so had the car towed back and I put in the new ignition lock cylinder and dis the 10 minute thing 3 times

@@trevonstewart6169 thats becuase it didnt learn the re-learn procedure... its been said that you could end up doing this procedure at least 3-4 times for a total of 1hr 30 min or so.. patience is the only way or you could bypass it with a resistor.. i did both.. resistor and new ignition cylinder lock and switch... but patience is key... if you kno somebody with a scanner tool to talk to your computer you could watch the process a buddy had one and i watch when my car was in re-learn mode when it worked

Its 3x of the 10 min. On n then 10 seconds off should fire right up after 3rd time

You have to have the door closed so it will not work unless you had the door closed at least my car doesn't

i am going to try it. cant get the starter to even click or do anything. bought a new ECU . AND HAVENT TRIED hooking it up and trying it to see if that might help.
