Great truck. Automakers have dropped so many configurations that could be useful now. Regular cab for just 2 people or extra cab if you have dogs with higher trim packages. I'd like to see the cab and chassis regular cab in a high trim level like a Ram 5500 Limited.

You know JD I agree with you 100% alot of people say that Chevy trucks front end is ugly but when you think about it these trucks are designed like a utility knife it's made to tow and the engine needs air flow to pull these trailers up and down these steep hills Chevy engineers designed the front end to get a lot of air so the engine can breathe and work properly I've seen alot of people do a aftermarket grilles and they wonder why there trucks are overheating all the time it cuts the air flow

Thanks for posting this truck online its so difficult to find one of these to look at and for someone to do a review on them. I just special ordered a 2021 F-350 regular cab longbed dually 7.3 4x4 4.30gears. Mines a XLT velocity blue carpet delete aluminum wheels and the light camel cloth. Can't wait to get it I have a 2020 Ram1500 5.7 Laramie crewcab 4x4 now very nice truck but wanted something like yours, im by myself so no need for a massive cab.

Spot on on the electric driver seat I didn’t realize how critical it was to raise the seat in my 2018 GMC and my 2020 GMC until I got in after my wife drove it and she raised the seat up all the way only then did I realize part of my issue with running over curbs and islands in parking lots was because I was too low in the seat being only 5 foot 11 raising the seat up 3 inches what a difference between night and day for overall visibility. I’ve driven trucks all my life for personal use and work and had many of them never had this issue until I got in my 2018. 👊👍😎

An old Subaru I had used a manual seat up/down feature. It was a lever you pulled up or pushed down and it moved you in a ratcheting fashion

I actually think it looks good. My aunt even bought one for towing her boat and rv. I used it for jobs before and it rides good when it's full. Basically if you want a pickup as a daily driver or personal vehicle than its not the right vehicle for you. If you do lots of towing or carrying a load than you should look into it.

I just got. A 2020 f350 regular cab 4x4 DRW and it’s a monster. Almost 8k in payload ride is better then I thought it would be. And ford offered a lot more the. This Chevy did

I like the look of it, I'm just glad Chevy finally went out on a limb and did not make the front end a bunch of squares like normal. This regular cab is a true pickup, no giant back seat and no girly seat warmers or other frilly gadgets.

Great honest review. I think it is a very good looking, very capable truck. I would like your opinion on sacrificing the shorter wheel base for higher payload and towing capacity. Would you recommend towing a 44 foot DRV behind this truck?

I like the wheel arch openings on the Chevrolet HD's over the GMC HD's. Cleaner classic look. Front end is growing on me too over the GMC.

Great review as always JD. Looks are subjective, I like a mid-level trim myself. I don't like super glitzy or bottom feeder work truck. But when it comes time to purchase a new truck, I future-proof it in two ways. First I think about resale. A regular cab 2 wheel drive is not going to have the best resale. A well-equipped four wheel drive crew cab is going to be more likely purchased second hand. Also I think about what all I might use it for. There's always going to be a time when you need the extra cab space. I understand this will affect towing and payload numbers. However, since I daily drive my truck instead of just using it for towing, the payoff is worth it.

I was on I20 tween Abilene and Weatherford this weekend and saw a unicorn! What caught my eye cuz it was different. It was a new model regular cab dually headed west. It wasn’t towing anything and looked to be maxed out on options.

I've been looking at the GMC version of this truck with what they call "double cab" which is just a fancy way of saying extended cab with short doors for the back. With the long bed, its a decent length for city driving/parking. Just not sure which trim level i really like on it, the SLT or SLE, cause Denali is just way too expensive for my needs.

I test drove a 2021 Silverado 3500 WT 4x4 regular cab SRW. The ride wasn't terrible but I wonder if it would wear on the driver. And off-road could be brutal. My biggest complaint though was the seat was TOO low. I'm only 5'10".

The drivers seat doesn't even have to be power. it could me manual adjustment. I just wish it went up and down at all. My friend has a f-250 xl and when I drove it i could never get comfortable bc im 5'11 and had to sit on the edge of the seat haha

Any thoughts about how this would handle a 30 foot travel trailer at around 9k lbs? Would the dually compensate for a shorter wheelbase as far as stability is concerned?

Hello. Thank you for this video and you're Honest review of this New Silverado H.D. Dually. With a pickup truck that is a Standard configuration such as this, Regular cab , 2wd Long bed 1 ton H.D. suspension and with dual rear wheels Dually , It Will have Harsh or Stiff ride because the way its configuration. This pickup with a Crew cab would probably have a better ride. I know from experience because Back in 1980 my parents bought a 1979 Chevrolet Silverado 30 2wd regular cab Camper Special that was an H.D. with dual fuel tanks 454 Engine, Automatic Transmission and was a Dually. It was a great pickup truck with awesome capabilities. Unloaded it was a harsh ride compared to My 04 Silverado 4x4 Ext.Cab 1500 but then again, Two totally different types of pickups. When my parents towed they're 32.5 ft. Jayco fifth wheel it rode alot better due to the weight. That old dually performed beautifully as it was designed and built to do , Hauling and Towing. Again good video review and I think that New Silverado H.D. is a Winner. I like it !

I have a Ford but always had GM trucks until last year. I’m not a fan of the current Chevy Silverado’s design but I like the GMC Sierra’s design more. The heavy duty one looks better than the 1/2 ton Silverado. It’s great to see a different version than all of the crew cab 4wd trucks that are more common. I could see that red truck really work for someone who needs the maximum capacity daily or very often.

Did you notice the cab noise being louder then the higher trim trucks ? I have 07 classic duramax work truck and the engine noise in the cab is substantially louder then my 06 LT duramax

Doesn't need to be a power seat to raise up and down. JK era Wranglers have a manual lever on the side that raises and lowers the seat height. Don't know if they had it on the TJ's or if they carried it over to the JL's.

I am myself looking at a 2021 2022 Dinali Dooley. The problem is low clearance as you mentioned. I am now concerned ordering a curt from when I ordered a truck and have installed by the dealer. When I called curt they said all to meet the new height requirements you’ll have to turn your leaf springs around lower your pin box and they make it sound like it’s going to be a horrific thing to make their product work and I don’t understand why don’t they (The manufacture )just make a taller fifth wheel hitch. I mentioned BMW to them they said you’re gonna run into the same problem so what does one person do? Do you have any recommendations for a fifth wheel hitch to meet the heights of today’s troller truck beds?

I keep meeting people who want Clydesdale brute strength and Thoroughbred speed with Tennessee Walker comfort. You want speed buy a sports car. You want comfort buy a luxury car. You want brute strength buy a 1 ton and don't complain about no speed or a uncomfortable ride. But if money isn't a problem buy the truck from a dealer,then pay a shop or shops to change out the seats for more comfort, then pay more money to make the truck faster ie motor,transmission, driveshaft,u-joint upgrades,all while maintaining the brute strength. Ahhhhhh the good ol give and take. All new truck's are powerhouses. But they come with a mortgage payment .

The thing most serious buyers are hating on the gm trucks for are the 3.23 and 3.42 rear ends they are using in the half tons and HDs. They want the 4.10 and 4.30 out of the fords

JD, I have to say that I like your previous intro better. As far as the truck goes, I am sure it works for some people, but not for me. I would rather have the crew cab. If I am not taking the kids, I have my dog in the back seat. The option of more room is always better. You never know when you need the extra space.

Thanks for doing the follow up comments. IMHO I think you spent way to much time on trying to convince people that the look of the truck may not be as bad as their first impression might leave. It's just not an argument that you're going to put a dent in for the most part. I would rather have listened to your views regarding capabilities even if they've been repeated in earlier videos. I would agree that GM doesn't offer enough upgrades on the lower level trucks and at the same time they limit your choice of looks when it comes to a better equipped trim. Just seems criminal that they and any manufacture for that matter requires customers to buy such expensive trucks/cars just to get the basic comforts for today's world.

Google play is great, however don't tow with a google or apple maps unless you can enter your height, length and weight. There are roads in the US where RV's will not fit. Trust me, do your homework.
