Excellent idea, keeping the hinges regularly greased makes a world of difference , I do have a small welder and plan on trying this method. Originally I was going to go with the nut , bolt and washers and eliminate the junk bushings all together by drilling larger holes and using 6inch bolts but thinking of trying this, sure wish you had the step by step video lol, I appreciate it, thanks

Good idea! I was thinking of welding in the hole and re-drilling slightly inward. Bought a cursed 94 S10 that had the door bent backward. Replaced the door and its slightly saggy

Nice idea. It looks much sturdier than a bushing. There may be a little more friction-which if greased is probably pretty little. Thank you.

The problem with just putting a hinge kit in is the hole in the door hinge is worn out the pin and bushing kit will not solve that. I have this problem now and think I will take the door off and weld the door hinge holes solid and re drill them , although I may try your solution first , great tip thanks for posting.👍👍

I have a 99 3 door pickup, and the third rear door is sagging really bad. Whoever had it before must have treated it like shit, cause the top latch wont even connect enough to shut completely. I dont think this same process would work for the back door, but what do you think?? Ill probably have to get all new latches and hinges

This is my first Chevy so I don't know if a big Chevy truck or a little Chevy truck is the same but on a Ford big or small they're all the same 6 volts of top three on each side 6 bolts on the bottom three on each side very easily adjustable I really don't know why Chevy didn't do it did you know every kid likes to swing on them damn doors

Mine are really worn and oval i was gonna weld a hardened washer on the hinge what thickness of metal did you use about 1/8" or closer to 1/4"

The top door mount on the cab looks like it's pulling away, is that normal because my 98 Ext Cab looks the same and I was worried my drivers door would fall off

I shimmed mine with brass washers and that lifted the door just enough

5 minute fix.... Jack the rear of the door and it'll shut perfect even if the bushings are shot. It's routine maintenance for s10s.

No Bolts holding S-10 hinges, they are Glued on not bolted
