On a straight pipe system an X-pipe actually acts as a muffler as it smooths the chop & takes away the harshness. But tbh I'd go for true duals without any kind of crossover & a pair of glasspacks for my taste.

My 2000 Silverado is true dual. I had glass packs but cut them out. Just running off the cats now

I don't have cats on my 02 Suburban. I have the factory y-pipe with no cats with a Thrush welded muffler into a 2 1/2 inch tail pipe and it's pretty loud.

The first one with the weird Y into a dual exit, that's got cats, it's not straight pipe. And the 2nd one, that's not "true dual" straight pipe my guy....That's a catted X pipe with no mufflers. If it's got ANYTHING besides JUST PIPE From Headers/Manifolds to the exit...Than 𝑰𝑻 𝑰𝑺 𝑵𝑶𝑻 "𝑺𝑻𝑹𝑨𝑰𝑮𝑯𝑻 𝑷𝑰𝑷𝑬"
