Right side distributor coil goes 3/1/5 but spark plugs right side goes 1/3/5

I have an issue It was my first time working on my 2004 I just took the whole thing off with out marking anything rookie mistake my truck is only back firing now can I reset the timing on it just like on my 93 4.3 v6

I been told the crank marks have to lined up and and on TDC of compression stroke

The reason for TDC and harmonic balancer lineup is to insure new distributor is installed correctly and helps prevent confusion. As long as new goes in exactly as old came out its lined up.

@@rebel9763yes but sometimes like my 4.3 distributor went bad and jumped gears on oil gear and it’s a mess realigning everything

It's an interference engine. But you are not messing with the timing chain, just ignition timing.

That sounds like a throttle position sensor its like $15 for that and its pretty simple just take the air intake off and take the throttle body off

When I watched other videos it's important to disconnect the battery or it can mess up the camshaft position sensor witch is my n under the rotter of the distributor and I believe it's my important to put it dead center or the timeing will be off then engine will vibrate and over heat that what my bad mechanic did to me so now it's had to buy it again do it myself it's not normal that the poor guy had to go nstale one again and again every 2 mo he says DO t was walking in my case mine was originally when I took it to mechanic no symptoms other little man sfire only diagnostic on my scanner was crank and cam sensor correlation basically needed to replace both now it got so bad he let me have my truck bad did not charge me that is bad mechanic in wellton Arizona called Pete auto body shop don't go there or at you're own risk he trying to char ge me 600$ when original y was to be one hour work at 120$ so I told himy truck is out time it will ruin my engine it was overheating so he knows so he didn't d not charge me
