What rear vision mirror is that? Is it stock? If so, we don't get stock rear vision mirrors like that here in Australia.

Yeah that's the stock mirror.

Great video! I have a 16 SS with a 6-speed manual. Were you rev matching in this video? It sounded like it. If so, how do you like the pedal position. I came from a GTI and found the pedal position better for rev matching than the SS.

ubbadubba1 thank you! Yes I was heel toe rev matching here and there in this video. I could never do it in this car until I watched a video from The Smoking Tire where he says he uses the left half of his foot for the brake and the right half for gas. This works pretty well for me since I have bigger feet. I guess the pedal position is good for me, and since this is basically the only manual "car" I've driven I don't know what others are like.

Ty Brink I'll have to practice that. I'm 6'5" so it may be easier to do it that way. I just can't contort my foot to heel to toe the traditional way. Thanks for the response.

ubbadubba1 no problem man, yeah that's what I was trying first- using my actual heel for the gas and it wasn't working. My leg kept hitting the steering wheel, once I tried the other way it worked so much better.

Yeah this is just a Chevy SS. People also call it a chevy ss sedan. It is a limited run model (2014-2017) imported from Australia, basically a 4 door version of the camaro, 6.2L v8 and rear wheel drive.

Called the Holden VFII in Australia but it came with either a LS3 or a 3.6L V6

Did you install the skip shift eliminator?

Stardust Dream Factory no I haven't. It's not a big enough deal to me, all I have to do is either start off in 2nd (which I don't do), short shift to 2nd right away, or rev 1st out to 20mph. I never have it happen that way.

I have no experience with a modern manual equipped with such. Everything I've read where owners installed the device they stated they would never go back to driving without it.

Stardust Dream Factory I guess the way I drive it doesn't bother me. I just drive normally without thinking about it and it only happens once in like every few months or something ridiculous like that. I have to physically try to drive a certain way to have it happen. The only way it pops up is when I take off in first with very light throttle and take it up to about 17mph, then the message for 1st to 4th shift will pop up.

Nice car - I want one like yours with the manual trans. Seems to be plenty still available. Sadly, I've seen exactly one on the road locally (SS) since they were introduced in 2014. I test drove a G8 GXP back in the day at a local dealer - have seen only one since.

Stardust Dream Factory it is amazingly fun to drive. Honestly the only reason I bought it is for the manual transmission. It just adds a whole new experience to the car driving it. It would still be a cool car with an auto, with a V8 and rear wheel drive, but I could never see owning one of these with an auto. However I understand if you would want to daily drive it in a lot of traffic.
