You're really spoiling us with all these uploads, Emily! They're really inspiring me to keep up with my art while I'm at university studying psychology. I've been following you for a while now (since your mean girl story time I believe) and I'm so happy that your channel and art has just continued to grow and flourish!!

As someone who's worked in the paint and woodwork section of a home depot style warehouse for the past decade, this video was so immensely satisfying every time you correctly named each product and did all the appropriate prep. Beautiful job Emily.

i felt so called out when you called the chartreuse baby-poop-yellow cause it's my favourite colour ahhhhhhhh. it turned out to cute, though the white throw cushion stressed me out since you couldn't rinse the dye out only secure it! I would've gone for the orange personally
@brittneynicolemcloud2 жыл бұрын
Me too my comforter is that color. Lmao and I think the green is more poopie colored lol but it did come out beautiful
@emilyartful2 жыл бұрын
I love that yellow ochre/chartreuse color on a lot of things, but this couch just wasn’t it! 😂 It was a very strange version of those colors that just wanted to clash with everything, unfortunately.
@emilyartful2 жыл бұрын
Also, I forgot to mention but I spent a whole hour rubbing the sette with white terry cloths after the settee was dry. It got almost all the extra dye out. By the time I was done, I scrubbed and scrubbed and scrubbed and nothing would transfer even into my whitest of linens, so it actually turned out fine. 😊

Love the restore! I think it's really nice when people take older furniture and make use of it again. My mother loves to do this and I always love to see how it all turns out! I prefer the older vintage and antique furniture as well. :D

I'm so glad you decided to go with the green instead of the orange bc with the house plants it gives off a lovely cottagecore vibe 💕

3:04 You should have used a ladder stitch; this would have enabled you to hide the thread within the material (assuming that the tear isn't too wide).

What?! I had no idea you redid furniture too!! Seriously about to crush this entire series! I'm always seeing old stuff that I'm interested fixing up (fyi, fixing autocorrected to both f*cking & giving, and I feel like that's probably more accurate to what I'd do 😂) Edit to add: Awww look at that sweet little bubba playing nearby watching his mama is being creative 😍 He's such a cutie pie!!

"Anyway,, guys, don't forget to stay out of trouble !" ; I love that ! Yesterday evening there was riots in Rotterdam centre, where I live near. Dutch government made poor decisions which made people demonstrate onto the streets. 7 people were shot by the police. (I posted on my Instagram.) I was not of aware of these riots. Luckily I stayed home for two years, so I can relate to what you were saying.

Very nicely done! I have done a lot of furniture upholstery and repair over the years. I believe you did an excellent job. You might try a little product called epoxy sculpt. Some artist use it for creating the sculptures along with their clay, check out ace of clay for an example. I have also used sawdust and wood glue mixed into a mixture to fill large areas where wood putty does not work, just a tip for next time. I do Enjoy your art and now your furniture redo’s thank you!

Can it be fixed? Without a doubt!!! I'm doing shabby Chic in my middle room and I'll be dying similar settee royal blue. ETA: I would never do chalk paint as a dye. I've done this before it's a pain in the giggy that's not act like it isn't. But satisfying - WORTH it at the same time!
