Being a locomotive isn't all sunshine and rainbows, though. You can only go where the tracks take you (literally), it's loud, hot, hard and dirty work. Not to mention how long the wait is to actually build up pressure. Then there's all the oiling you need, the cleanout, and I almost forgot when something breaks and you need to get it fixed.

I know this is a year old but great footage here! Especially that at Terry ranch road. I actually had a question about that... Do you know how fast they run the steamer through the line around that area? I will be seeing UP4014 there in a few weeks and wanted to gauge if a chase between Greeley --> Carr --> Terry ranch road would be possible?

Thanks! Im actually going to be chasing 4014 from Limon, CO, all the way to Cheyenne, from what im guessing they might do 40-50 mph between Greeley and Cheyenne, but from Carr to Terry Ranch is a little risky, since its only a 15 min drive, at Carr you could take the shot and then haul ass to Terry Ranch, though I dont know how many people will be at Terry Ranch so it could be a little intense.

@@DenverRailfanHD Agreed actually. I think I'll be at terry ranch most likely...probably catch departure at Greeley then haul ass to terry ranch. Do you happen to know why they are taking 3.5 hours between Greeley-Cheyenne? Possible reverse move into the cheyenne yard...?
